"Aiiieeeeee!" "Much trouble!" "Not for this one to say I told you so, but I told you so!"
Dumfis will target the nearest skeleton and using his At-Tal (doubles damage) launch a Javelin at it (damage 2d), following up as needed with his other 2 shifting targets as needed until he needs to go to close in with his poinard (damage 2d).
The animated skeletons are quick in their movement as they proceed to guard the tomb. Lazarus releases his readied arrow and just barely manages to snag the closet one, blasting a bit of it away, but the skeleton continues to pursue. The elf Lorendiac scrambles to load a stone; with great luck, he releases it just in time to smash a part of another skeleton coming right at him at point-blank range... but now that skeleton is right on him. Dumfis hurls a javelin from outside, but the skeleton is too fast for it; the javelin whizzes past. As the skeletons close in, it becomes difficult to obtain good aim from a distance, for risk of hitting a comrade. The skeletons have closed in for melee... Dumfis closes in with his poniard, while Telfur launch with his pick axe as well as Funklebun...
[OOC: tp Will the hoblin Lazarus close-in for melee? Stay back? Or other action? tp & dumfis , giving you both +1 since you were actively covering the group with readied weapons (so no critical miss for Lazarus).]

Lazarus begins to knock another arrow but then he realizes the risk of hitting a friend. He briefly considers running, but doesn't fancy his chances if the skeletons beat his comrads and come after him. Blast it, he realizes he doesn't have a hand weapon. Keeping to the edge of the melee he scouts about looking for anything he may be able to use in combat.
While exploring the area, Iulius Cruxplate comes to the cairn and observes a skirmish on the mound. He thinks that it’s best to avoid getting involved in other people’s business. However, as he gets closer, he realizes that some of the combatants are missing an important feature...skin and flesh!!
A well internioned man, Iulius begins a cautious trot towards the hill, and his heart turns icy when he sees what the party is up against. He stifles a scream and contains his fear enough to draw his Gladius, readies his Buckler for defense, says a prayer to his God, and engages the closest of the three unholy enemies.
[OOC: I leave it to the GM to determine which of the Skeletons I engage with. Thanks for letting me in the Campaign!]
As Iulius approaches and engages the skeletons, he finds the ghastly creatures move at an incredible speed. Like a blur of motion, they continue to dodge, run around, block with their shields, and swing with their thigh bone clubs. Up against such lightning speed, only Lazarus and Lorendiac manage to land but a few blows upon them. The rest of the group hold their ground in defense, with minimal injury thus far, but the skeletons persist...
[OCC: Iulius Nice introduction. Because the skeletons are so fast the adventure calls for additional saving rolls in combat. The party wins the round and scores 2 hits on the skeletons. The party takes 1 spite damage. ]
[Make L1 save on DEX vs Skeleton Speed] [Lazarus [3,4]+22=29 L1=20 on DEX: Hit] [Dumfis [4,2]+10=16 L1=20 on DEX: Miss] [Lorendiac [6,2]+15=23 L1=20 on DEX: Hit] [Telfur [4,1]+13=18 L1=20 on DEX: Miss] [Funklebun [2,5]+11=18 on DEX: Miss] [Iulius [3,2]+12=17 on DEX: Miss]
"Lo, these abominations are tougher than they seem," Lorendiac cries after beating back a bony assailant. He spins his staff above his head and attempts to deliver a killing blow, roaring as he does it.

Iulius, alarmed at the speed of movement of these skeletons, thinks “ I have to try to fight speed with speed”, so he quickly spins to get a bit of space, sheaths his sword, and draws his dagger, hoping that he can get a better edge on striking the skeleton with the quick movement of the smaller, lighter blade. He grits his teeth, and makes his move towards the bony enemy.
