Lazarus feels around the panel and finds that there is a lever that could be pulled, presumably to open the panel.
Lorendiac and Iulius will find the crouching polar bear statue to not only be life-sized, but they find it is also to be rather convincingly realistic. Although there are no obvious signs as to its historical origin.

Telfur muses on what the group's options are and then states, "I'm inclined to agree with Dumfis and let Lazarus pull the handle but perhaps before we do that, we might examine the rest of the room in more detail? What about looking around the base of this stone block? Or looking around for hidden doors that might lead out of here?"
Iuluis agrees with Dumfis and says "Dumfis speaks true. We will not find what we all seek unless we poke around. I am prepared to defend the group from any threats". Iulius feels like he's best served as muscle, watching the rest of the party's backs while they search for treasure / unusual items, as his intelligence is well below average. He wouldnt know a lever from a ham sandwich.
Upon examining and tapping the base of the block, it is clear that it is ornately carved stone; the carvings are detailed but otherwise picture-less, made up of random shapes and patterns. But they are very prestigious none-the-less, indicating high-status and wealth. Velvet hangings of purple color cover the walls, also of very high quality. But behind the hangings are but more smooth stone, making up the circular perimeter of the room. The polar bear remains prominent in the center of the room.
