I've had an idea for a science fantasy game, is there any interest in playing it on here?
The premise would be that all characters start as gladiators, imprisoned for a crime, captured during a pirate raid, or bought as slave, on a backward planet somewhere on the edge of a solar system.
All kindred are allowed as long they don't have an attribute modifier higher than x3.
Weapons from New Khazan exist but will be forbidden for starting characters.
Anyone who wants to create a kindred is fine to go ahead, as long as the follow these two rules:
1) No attribute modifier higher than x3. 2) They must be cool.
The emphasis in this adventure would be on roleplaying and NPC interaction.

Hey, TP, sounds like a rather interesting setup. Any inspiration from the latest Thor flick or perhaps World War Hulk? Which rule set are you considering? Any kind of posting frequency expected? Anything else you could tell us about the setup?

Not consciously inspired by thor, but all these things go in the mixing pot.
I would be using DT&T.
Posting frequency would be about twice a week, nice and relaxed.
I'm happy for players to contribute as much or as little world building as they wish, it's a big galaxy out there and any ideas people have can be incorporated.

Sounds fun, and I hope I will be able to keep up to twice a week.
I would like to play one of the Awoken
A human preserved in cryo sleep for some reason, found by an alien race or wizard experimented on them and rework them for their own purposes. Will have a fragmentary memory of their former life, and a clearer memory of their time as a servant to the aliens/wizard.
All stats X1, get the human reroll, but also a number of rolls on the mutation table (GM's discretion) in my Trollszine Nexus article OR some mutation table that tp approves.

That concept fits perfectly!
I am happy for you to use the Trollszine table and make as many rolls as seems right.
I'm just working on some background text at the moment, but this only pertains to the planet, anything off planet is fine to make up.
If you miss posts then I will just assume your character is going along with the consensus, if someone omits to post for a month or more then I may rule that their character is dead, but I aim to have a nice relaxed pace to this game.

Simia Aeneos VII is a largely barren ice-world. Temperatures range between 0 and -50 centigrade. The only two native sentient populations are a species of white ape and some rather less civilised humans who scrape a subsistence hunting the herds of sabre-toothed hamsters that roam the ice deserts.
There are two subterranean cities, both based around Standrium mining1. The first is Kaanderstad, often held up as an example of perfect town planning. The Kaanders Corporation are a model employer, those that work for them enjoy a very generous pension scheme, plenty of annual leave and stringent health and safety regulations. Kaanderstad is built around the mine and is a spacious, light and clean-aired town.
Unfortunately you are not in Kaanderstad. You are in Hell Town. Rumple Appleskin started a rival mine managing to undercut the Kaanderstad Corp by the judicious use of zero hours contracts, non existent safety systems and a policy of shooting customs officers on sight. Hell Town quickly sprung up in a haphazard fashion to serve this upstart's needs. It is a filthy town, the air heavy with fumes and the streets littered with detritus. Why would anyone work for such a company you ask? Well they don't require you to be even vaguely qualified, there is zero tax on alcohol and every Friday the company lays on an orgy of violence and gambling in the form of Gladiator fights.
1 Standrium is a substance used to oil the carapaces of giant centipedes2. 2 Giant centipede fighting is the most popular sport in the known universe, it come to prominence early in the Biscuit Wars when a ship load of centipedes crashed into Gapagologo and the entrepreneurial locals discovered they couldn't be eaten, worn, rendered down or otherwise used, but were uncontrollably violent.

Most excellent background.
I think my character was in an escape pod from a terraforming star ship that had had an encounter with a really nasty carnivorous species. He was the only survivor and had to go into deep sleep until he could return to civilization.
Instead the escape pod landed in a glacial drift. He was discovered there by 'the collector' ,a wizard of unknown provenance who used him for a wide variety of physical and psychological experiments before returning him to the surface, with only an all weather suit, and an experience of running deathtrap mazes to his name.
Dazed and starving he was picked up by hunters for Rumple Appleskin's outfit, who decided he would be good Gladiator fodder.
Name and stats to follow.

I think I shall have a character who is of a race that can feed off the emotions of others, greatly increasing their own capabilities. These - the - have exhausted the stocks of other sentient creatures on their own planet, Corozythan, and use their growing space travel technology to find and take captive other species they find. My character, Haemantine, suffered an overdose of sadness when investigating a hitherto unknown species on a newly encountered planet and has not been cured of this emotional buffeting. Haematine stole a ship and is no a criminal, without support from his own kind and still riddled with the effects of being swamped by this creatures despondency. Stats, etc to follow.

It seems this has enough interest to go ahead!
Anyone else want to jump on board?
I'm thinking I will probably write this adventure up as I am going with an eye to publication. This means there should be professionally done illustrations along the way.

I'd love to get involved tp if you think you can cope with me in 2 play by post adventures here on the trollbridge. I would like to play a silicon-based life-form with attributes based on a Ghargh (Gargoyle) but lacking wings and the ability to fly but capable of withstanding incredible temperatures (such as Dragon fire) even to the point where he/she can become a molten liquid retaining sentience and the ability to flow in any direction and to reform into their normal humanoid form on cooling. Also, they have the ability to take on the features of any type of rock or stone. Part of a criminal gang, my character has been sent to the planet as a form of punishment for previous crimes.

GPs aren't actually GPs they are CUs, (pronounced 'coo' like a scottish cow)
You may only purchase weapons, armour or shields from the standard DT&T rulebook. No poisons, no provisions etc, no fancy clothes. You all have a set of mundane clothes for free. Although stat wise you are equipped with medieval equipment some of it could of course be 'futurised' so a greathelm might in fact be a stormtrooper style helmet. Lightsabers and laser guns exist, but you don't get the option of starting with them. You may start with black powder weapons if you want. These are considered crud enough and noisy enough to be entertaining.
Khaboom, have you given any thought to your special power? How doesit affect you when around strong emotions?
