Couldn't resist backing the Kickstarter even though, like mahrundl, the cost of posting will probably turn out to be be greater than the game itself

My TFT campaign back in the mid 80s was more epic than my T&T one. The three players that ran through it became legends maxing out the system without bending any rules. One player reached the point of wielding a flaming greatsword with one hand. Depite all that I've never owned the rules, always borrowing from my brother. He is all over the kickstarter and excited Steve Jackson is back at the helm. Liz Danforth has returned to do art for it too. My all-time fave RPG, although we played it as a board game and didn't actually 'role play' our characters.

I just thought I might keep non-KS backers for TFT up-to-date with where this has been going. I have now received the pdfs, sort of the Beta versions I suppose, of the most important parts of the project. I am, thoroughly enjoying reading through all of the material. It dates from around 1978, I think, and there is a frisson of a feel of T&T in there. The magic system is quite like classic 5th edition that I was playing around 1980-81 and the saving rolls are a bit like T&T only a sort of a mirror image. The talents aren't dissimilar to those in deluxe, either. I haven't discovered what a 'Prootwaddle' is yet mormonyoyoman but I'm sure I'll get to it soon

Just be glad you've never been in any of my games. I ran prootwaddles in Call of Cthulhu using TnT 5e rules.

And I see I missed yet ANOTHER Kickstarter! PFEH. I was the biggest dang TFT fanboy back in the day. I do believe I was one of the few people whoi bought the big soft-cover compilation of rules info that Metagaming put out - I forget what they called it, it was all typewritten (possibly from a computer printout) and looked REALLY cheap. I still have it inn my Collection.

I snagged Melee and Wizard but not TFT. When they arrive I'll see how the group takes to them. If there's enjoyment, I'll either order TFT or get somewhere to print and bind the PDFs.

As much as I've played TFT we never did it as a RPG. Instead just a creative board game.
