Hey everyone. I'm Joseph, sd_Japser online in most places. I've been a table top gamer for nearly 30 years. GURPS has always been "my game", but I love to look at rules and systems. I've been aware of T&T since reading that it was one of the inspirations for GURPS (back in the 3rd edition introduction), but have always sort of overlooked it.
I picked up the old "Goblin Lake" Free RPG Day back in 2007 (I think?), I think I ran a character through that but never really looked at the rules again. Then this past Free RPG Day, I picked up the mini T&T Adventures Japan. It got sorted to the top of my stack of RPGs to check out, but ended up sitting there.
Then this past weekend I picked it up to read, and it really struck a cord with me. I told my boys that next time they were interested in running a quick game (previously I ran a simple d20 hack to play games with them), I'd like to try T&T. They got excited and we played a quick game. Now every night they are clamoring for me to run another adventure.
I picked up the Deluxe T&T preview (only $0.99 on DriveThru right now), to get a better look at the whole game before I dive in and get the book. I looked for the physical book at my FLAGS, but they didn't have any. I'll probably order it online at some point, but for now I'm sticking to preview. My boys really want to get their hands on the big book though.
I don't think that T&T is going to replace GUPRS as my go-to game... but for now it'll be the game I run family games and maybe some quick dungeon romps from time to time. I also picked to the app and have been playing through several of the solos.
