I've played D&D since there was a D&D (started way back in '75), but during all those years I never played T&T. The one time I asked about it, I was told it was ... well, let's just say I was discouraged from investigating further.
I've delved in T&T 1st edition, 5.5th edition, and now DeLuxe. T&T rocks, man! I am in awe of what a great game it is, and more than a little regretful it took me all this time to find it.

I didn't get into T&T until a year or two ago, and I also regret not having known or heard of it until lately. It is indeed a great game.

@piper and dungeondevil you are not the first to post here and both regret that you ignored T&T for so long and claim that fellow gamers deterred you from exploring the Trollgod's creation earlier. The world universe of roleplaying games is a vast one with something to suit every taste. My early experiences were of T&T and so when exposed to D&D, I found it over-complicated and rules heavy by comparison. My school friends in the early 1980s fell into 2 groups of gamers; those who were out for fun and played T&T and those that termed themselves 'serious gamers' who preferred D&D. In the end, it doesn't really matter which flavour of roleplay you like, but here at the Trollbridge we all know which game is the best

My style of refereeing a game is "anything goes" and T&T seems to invite that style of playing. I like that. My hat is off to Ken St. Andre, as well as Liz Danforth, Steve Crompton, Rick Loomis, Jim "Bear" Peters, and any others I overlooked.

'Bear' Peters should definitely be in that list.
But yes, it is a wonderfully easy system for 'anything goes'. If you want Every. Last. Detail. nailed down in advance, other systems may suit you better...

Agreed in re: Peters! I'll put him on there right now.

A lack of omniscience ought be no grave offense.

Well, technically I didn't ignore T&T -- I just didn't know it existed. I knew of it, but unfortunately never continued digging after someone (who probably didn't know any more than I, think back on it) told me not to bother. I lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere, I was worried I wouldn't be able to convince my players to try a new game. I was likely correct, a few years later with Traveller I was never able to get a group together for it. Oh, well. Coulda, shoulda, woulda ...

No, but three tornadoes destroyed the town.

You mean three tornadoes were required to finish what you started?
