Piper, any chance that you could give a bit of detail of the announcement, for those not able to access Facebook?

I figured she was here ... and if I'd seen that handle I would have guess it might be her. Thessaly? I hope you don't mind my sharing your news.

This question is directed specifically toward devadasi but any interested party may also answer. Melding T&T 5.x with 7.x: my question is directed specifically toward the 7.5 version of kremm. You've indicated you use the 5.x version of spell-casting but mention in another post how leprechauns (or gremlins, perhaps?) lack the proper STR for being the magic-using creatures they are and should get a WIZ rating.
Do you just give a straight 3.6 roll or do you modify it?
What else do you use from 7.5? I'm building my own campaign and I'm interested in your input because reading your play reports shows me we have a similar approach to running a game.

The play reports posted here are before Deluxe came out. I don't know her exact formula, but I know devadasi has been a champion of the Deluxe edition since it was published. My hunch is that she has her own custom blend of the rules based on years of playing 5th edition, 7.5, and Deluxe.

|snip|You've indicated you use the 5.x version of spell-casting but mention in another post how leprechauns (or gremlins, perhaps?) lack the proper STR for being the magic-using creatures they are and should get a WIZ rating. |/snip| I'll not presume to answer for Devadasi, her posts are well worth the wait. What I can comment on is a 5th ed. game that we had going on here titled DoctorX's Online Game - The Isle of Faerie. In that game I played a faerie called Whisperflick. Flick was a wizard and had two-strikes against him from the start, 1) As you've mentioned, the wee folk don't have much Strength so good luck casting much. And 2) His Intelligence score was below the minimum threshold necessary to cast level 1 spells. Strictly by the book, Flick shouldn't have been a viable character. But! :: Pphhhbbttt :: when have rules ever stopped us?! We solved the game mechanics issues with in-game background and story. For the first point DoctorX and I agreed that faeries are magic. They don't just channel it they are literally an embodiment of magic. So, we decided upon using Charisma to reflect the force of personality such a creature born of magic would have. Mechanically, faeries double their original Charisma roll much the same as a dwarf doubles their initial strength roll, which they use to cast spells. Precedent set. So far, nothing broken. The second point needed a bit more thought. We ended up using a variation of a 7th edition rule where wizards make a saving role vs. the spell level to see if the spell cast properly. In Flick's case, it was a Luck SR vs. Spell Level to see if he could cast the spell. The story behind it is pretty simple, he's a gifted spell slinger spoken of in some obscure prophecy who was cursed early in his life. When he attempts to cast spells Flick has to work past the darkness that clouds his thoughts. The Luck SR was the mechanic and randomizer that stepped in and acted as the curse effect. And boy did it. Every so often one of Flick's spells went awry, like the Detect Magic he cast from inside Master Ho's satchel and ended up glowing bright green enough to rival the lantern light in a tavern. In the end, it's up to the GM and Players what flavor of story they want. There are pros and cons to both directions. Keeping to the original idea of 'Strength powers spells', or whatever attribute you want to use in your game, provides all sorts of role play opportunities as that attribute is depleted through casting. When Flick cast spells he essentially withered from a vibrant magically infused being to a dried husk of himself through which he experienced pain. Not to mention the terror of depleting all of himself and possibly becoming one of the ShadowKin. No mechanics applied just role played. Switching over to Kremm or any other magical battery levels the playing field insofar that everyone has access to it, to a greater or lesser degree. How do you get more? Now, instead of your magic having a personal cost it has become a resource to be obtained, hoarded and used at one's whim. Neither is better than the other. It all comes down to how do you want to play.

Devadasi is currently working on releasing her Monsters Monsters setting and GM adventures possibly through Peryton Publishing

What I can comment on is ... Thank you, Professor. That's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

I've been following that conversation on FB as well. I love Thessaly's content there and it looks like it will be really cool book. I plan to buy a copy when it comes out!
