1) Normal wear and tear - cover it with whatever rules you use for downtime/living expenses. 2) Some monsters have attributes which pierce and damage armour, especially if you use the spite special damage rules - acid in particular will be bad news for armour. I would say that barring magic, any armour degrading can only be patched in dungeon at best for maybe half of the lost AP with use of a relevant talent/skill roll. 3) Stunts - on a fumble one of the options to reward such failure is armour straps breaking, visors getting blocked etc. Inflict such armour damage as seems appropriate. 4) 'Burning' armour - a feature of early T&T. I am not sure I can exactly visualise how this process works. I would like help with that myself.

I like your list!
Re: bullet point #4? I believe it is also in deluxe (case 3.32, page 14) -- All warriors MAY have up to twice the basic protection from any equipped armor and shields—but at the expense of added wear and tear on the equipment.
The rules goes on to explain in Case 4.3, page 51 how it works. Basically, warriors can double the protection from their armor but any hits above standard damage reduce the effectiveness of the armor by the extra amount.
I've no issue with the rule "as is" and realize I can modify or discard at will. My basic question? How accurately does this reflect real world dynamics? I'm mostly just curious about that. I know armies often had armorers who traveled with them.
In real life, armor takes a LOT of damage-so assuming you didn't die from the combat, you probably had some burst links, dings in your helmet, greaves or breastplate, stitches burst in the gambeson etc. If you had a HUGE ding or rent showing then that blow probably killed you.
Having said that, it is vitally important to maintain your armor on a regular basis during your downtime-links rust, laces need replacing, plates need checking for fatigue and corrosion-and of course those functional 'minor' dents and dings that you didn't die from...
A regular houserule of mine is to allow ANY Type to Burn Armor or Shields as per 4th Ed page 22, but limit it to no more than Twice the protection before it is destroyed-but Warriors not only multiply the protection for that round as normal(multiply by Level) but may also 'burn' other items such as weapons(1D Damage = 1 pt Protection x Level) and such things as Treasure chests, furniture and Dead Bodies (1 point x Level).
