In Hand to hand combat a person who attacks with fist does 1 dice plus combat add damage? A Person with Pugilism 1 would do 1 dice of extra damage in addition to the normal 1 dice plus combat adds? From the book the kid that Alex is fighting has no martial skills while Alex has pugilism 1. But both Alex and the kid are doing 1 dice damage plus combat adds. But shouldn't Alex had 2 dice plus combat adds or does the 1st level of Pugilism not modify hand to hand damage with an extra dice of damage?
Late to the party here, but I've always read it as the Pugilism skill level equals the total number of dice rolled; level one equals one die, same as everybody. A character with one level of Pugilism doesn't hit harder than anyone else, but can take a punch a little better. The only real benefit of one level of Pugilism is the ability to absorb one hit per round.

I know this is for MS&PE, but I like the idea of a pugilism talent for T&T with these mechanics. However, I'm not sure how that would mesh with the way talents work, +3, then +5 etc to SRs. It could be a unique talent though almost like the bonus warriors get of +1d6 per level in DT&T. My other thought is that the damage from weaponless fist and feet (elbows etc apply of course) would be stun damage primarily. So, even if a puigilist/martial artist did heaps of damage it would only lead to a knock out if they exceeded the opponents CON. But, this could be very useful in itself if the goal is to subdue an opponent rather than dispatch them.
