Greetings To All -
A player of mine recently asked me what I consider to be a good question: what would Houdini's Dexterity score be in T&T terms? I understand that ability scores in T&T are far more relative than in other game systems and I also understand the role stunts and saving rolls play as a central game mechanic. That stated, where do others on this lovely board consider the transitional point is whereby an attribute score goes from being very good to extraordinary, super-human, super-hero, demi-god, etc.? What score would you give for Houdini's Dexterity?
I apologize if this topic has been beaten to death on here; I fully confess to being lazy and not searching the Bridge before posting this thread. Feel free to direct me accordingly. In any case, I'd love to hear the thoughts from the brilliant minds on this Board.
Thanks!

You lazy sot. The WHOLE subject of Houdini's dexterity was disected, discussed to death and given a proper burial not two ... Wait a second, no it hasn't. I would put it at around 77, though, just because I like REALLY odd numbers...

I'd have said 99, linking it to a (big) cat but I am happy to stand corrected.

Well, I took a look at Devadasi's Saving Roll guidelines and I'm thinking somewhere in the range of 45-50. This would make most 6th lvl SR on Dex achievable, assuming no fumbles. NB: 5th ed rules in play here.

I'd probably roll him up in MS+PE, roll high AND get TARO, roll pretty well again and get, say...23? After which i'd blow points on KS: Escape Artist, start it off at at least a 3.....by the time I was getting famous (lvl 6 maybe?) i'd have raised my DX to at least 26 and the AP would likely have raised the KS to at least a 7 or better...plus I could add the Perform and Lockpicking skills to my roll as well as per the Rules...
So, let's say a Dx of 26 by Lvl 6, Escape Artist, Perform and Lockpicking at 7, 6 and 6...a direct translation to T&T (4th or 5th Edition, no Houserule for Talents or Skills) would be a pretty astounding DX 45. At a mere Lvl 6 though, i'd have to assume several lucky Encounters with Magic Boots of some kind!

Hello All -
This a quick and very belated note to say "thank you" to those who answered my original question. Your answers have helped me work out a range where the DEX score would reside.
Cheers!
