Hey Master Trolls, Anyone know if there's any plans in the works for another run of Deluxe? I found this old thread proposing a 2-volume edition that sounds great, but I can't see that it ever happened? trollbridge.proboards.com/thread/3529/book-edition-deluxe-tunnels-trolls I don't see a PoD option at DTRPG. Is there some way we could help get a new PoD option out there for Deluxe? I've got a few newbies interested -- all of whom like having print books in hand -- and Deluxe seems to be becoming hard to come by in print ($90 used on Amazon). Cheers

It's still in discussion. With Rick's health issues, and subsequent death, the company has put a few things on hold. But, they are gearing up.
For what it's worth, you could just print out what you need of the main book, from the PDF. I skipped all the Troll World stuff, when I did my print. Also, I find it easier to work with a three ring binder, than a bound book. Further, you don't really need the book much in play, unlike many other RPGs. You can just use the GM screen for most of what you need. The mini-rules also do a fairly good job of explaining how to play, with the caveat that it takes some shortcuts for sake of simplicity.

Thank you! Totally understood, just trying to make sure I didn't overlook a good option that is already out there.

There was some talk of splitting the Deluxe book when the current run is sold out. One book with rules, the other with background information.

Ken confirmed this plan to me in a FB conversation. I should point out this was before Rick's passing and the plan may be delayed or altered.

Making a smaller, (and therefore, theoretically) cheaper print edition without the setting extras would increase sales.
Many other RPGs make the setting(s) a separate supplemental publication (e.g. D&D's "Greyhawk", "Blackmoor", "Mystara"; Advanced Fighting Fantasy's "Titan", Traveller's "Third Imperium", "Solomani Rim", etc.).

I would like a couple of "rules only" type of volumes as table copies. I love the setting information and have enjoyed reading and getting inspiration from TrollWorld, but like most DMs I've got my own milieu.

I'd have to agree. If I could obtain two copies of the rules mechanics only volumes for the same cost as the rules+setting, I'd [prefer that. I already have dT&T in both pdf and dead-tree format. Being able to keep a couple of rules only books on the table for player reference would be my preference. This allows me to keep my full dT&T volume for myself.
Of course, I have both versions of the dT&T Quick Start rules in dead-tree format so, we kind of have what we're asking for. I'd just like to be able to hand out a full rule set rather than find the information simplified and slow down the game by having to look up a particular point for a single player if they could do it on their own.
With what is currently available, I'd probably just print the rules section from the pdf and put it in a binder with page protectors. Then I could add my own setting info easily and add, subtract, rearrange as needed. Even having multiple sections for different settings could be possible, eg. Low Fantasy or Early 20th Century (ala Indiana Jones, The Shadow, The Phantom, Cthuluhu, etc.).
