Hi
I am helping entertaining one of our grandchildren. He gets through the work set from school in no time flat, so i was thinking of encouraging him to do some T&T solos old school style as an educational exercise (adding dice, counting spite, reading the elevated language of T&T, working out monster ratings, shopping for weapons!)
I would usually suggest Sword for Hire, but want to keep it slightly more basic (i.e. no additional character). I know Buffalo Castle is traditional, but want something with a bit more of a storyline.
Please share your opinions of the best few adventures for a bright young man to cut his adventuring teeth on.

Hey, zanshin , I know it's not specifically T&T but I just discovered that Audible.com is offering free-to-listen audio books for kids since they're out of school. No sign-ups, no commitments. The address is stories.audible.com. A quick skim showed a full range of age-groups from littl'uns to teens. There are also some classics, including Grimm's Fairy Tales - and several other titles about myths and fairytales for kids - which is what sparked my memory of this thread.

My youngest was around that age when I introduced him to T&T, but instead of picking out certain one's, what I did was just pick one and we'd play it as a 2 character solo. That way he got to do a lot of the number crunching and dice rolling AND he was playing a game with his Dad.

Hey, Zanshin, thinking back on it, I used Dungeon of the Rat to introduce my kids and a couple of their friends to T&T. As I recall, it shouldn't take too much to dial it back for a single character. Or, let him run two characters at a time, one wizard and one warrior. Nebless' suggestion is another option, as well. Both have their merits.

I ended up doing Sword for Hire with him and he loved it. He especially enjoyed all the inventive deaths. I think we have a new recruit.
Thanks all for the ideas. I'll definitely get him to check out Alice in Weirdworld and Temple of Issoth next time.
