Hah! That Twitter thread was me having some fun. I don't know who the buyer is. I can say that I've gotten positive vibes. Let's leave it at that.
Meanwhile, spread the word about the Bundles of Holding. Good deals!

Wow! The little company that could is being sold, I'm really saddened to hear that . Flying Buffalo has been around my whole life. I hope the new owner(s) aren't going to make massive changes. I got some PDFs that are not in the bundle off of Drivethrurpg today. Here's a list of the solo's that aren't included (FB classics). Agent of Death Arena of Khazan Buffalo Castle City of Terrors Deathtrap Equalizer Elven Lords Gamesman of Kasar Naked Doom Sea of Mystery Sewers of Oblivion Sorcerer's Solitaire. GM adventures not in the levelup (FB classics). Tomb of K'Horror Dungeon of the Bear Uncle Ugly's Underground. Many of Ken's Solos and GM adventures are not in the Bundles. I hope that was useful to some. Now I need to figure out if I can get a levelup bundle.

Many of Ken's adventures are published by his Trollgodfather Press (formerly Trollhalla Press). So, not in the bundle. With the exception of Monsters! Monsters!

... Here's a list of the solo's that aren't included (FB classics)... Most of those were in the 2020 T&T Bundle of Holding. So, if you have that, you're only missing: Elven Lords, Gamesman of Kasar and Tomb of K'Horror.

Yeah, a lot of uninformed speculation there.

So the mighty Buffalo, like foolhardy Icarus, has flown too close to the sun and now plummets earthward? For someone who has just recently joined the T&T congregation, this is sad news.

I don't think it's that bleak. stefanj said "positive vibes". I don't know what's up with the DTRPG listings, but lawyers and intellectual property are a whole kettle of fish. It could be good in the end. And what we have already of course brought us here in the first place.

It will be good in the end. As right now it's all in no-mans land. one way or another being out of this holding pattern will be better.

Lots of doom, gloom and unfounded speculation kicking about on the internet at the moment. FBI's RPG lines were dormant for years and up for sale long before that, as you can see in this news item taken from issue 76 of Space Gamer, Sep/Oct 1985: Right now we know… almost nothing. So why assume the worst? We can't expect a T&T renaissance with regular new product and books back on store shelves if we're not willing to accept change. The fact that Flying Buffalo endured so long as it was is down largely to it not being primarily an RPG company, after all. Another chapter is about to open and I'd rather read on than close the book because it might not be the same as the last.

That's a very sensible and positive take on it bigjackbrass. I guess the small publisher approach of FBi had created room for other creators to 'fill the gaps' and T&T has had a life that many other games from the 70's/80's have not (Bushido, Space Opera, Bifrost just have legacy play now).
I hope that the new owners take an approach to T&T that allows independent T&T creators an outlet , in the way that DMs Guild does for TOG.

Well I've added 6 brand new T&T players in the last 18 months, not a lot, but hopefully the game's profile is on the up 😃🎲⚔️

This is just speculation, but I could think of a number of reasons for taking items off of DriveThruRPG, at least temporarily:
* New owner will want to "rebrand" the products, putting on their logo and updating the legal stuff. * New owner may want to do a quality check, and look for objectionable language and circumstances. * New owner may want to have a standard setting / mythology for T&T products, and remove items that don't fit the picture. At least until they are reworked.

Strange times.
An old tried-and-true company, Flying Buffalo Inc., has been sold. Whereas a dead-and-buried company, TSR, has risen from the grave and is shambling and lurching around like one of George Romero's zombies ... X 2!
What the deuce is going on? Is the apocalypse nigh?
