I’m guessing this is because Ken has retained rights to M!M! and not TnT. So he can’t really developed anything he did for TnT because it belongs to Webbed Sphere now, but now material for M!M! is ripe for the plucking.  

Or did you already know this and I’m being thick-headed (apologies if so).

I mean, Ken could still write and make stuff for Tunnels and Trolls I'm sure. It's just now he would do so as a writer and game designer working for them right? Sure, it would be a different dynamic but one perhaps even better for Ken. I'm sure he has much more fun on the creative side of RPG publishing than he ever had on the other side.

I’m certain he could but, at I understand it, WS isn’t at a place right now (or in the near future) to take TnT submissions. Especially “over the transom“ ones, even from a noteworthy like KSA. And? Ken has his own imprint to grow now.

This is all, of course, guesswork on my part.

I definitely detect some bitter-sweetness on the KSA side and folks following his Facebook posts, a few of which were edited or deleted, must see same. Kind of like your girlfriend moving away but she says you can still be friends. Ken seems to be instead focusing on a new chick (M!M!). And I am sure we will be getting some fun stuff from him (and Steve Crompton). And we don't even know if WS said they really want to be friends! Lack of statement one way or the other leads me to believe there is some kind of a sore spot there but maybe it is just a vacuum of movement or combination thereof. Hopefully they can be friends some day but it doesn't seem imminent. Even if they never team-up I hold many unpublished but essentially complete KSA T&T manuscripts that will eventually see the light of day in some form. They will likely never be edited and polished like they deserve but its tremendous raw material for the die-hards and more imaginative folks here.

I have spoken to WS about new T&T material. They didn't dismiss the idea outright, they simply commented on where additional work was needed to make it viable. So I do think they are 'in the game' so to speak.

Steve's Answer: Keep in mind that the new Flying Buffalo has a bunch of material that is out of print and they are working to get much of it back in print again. Beyond that they have a box full of unpublished projects and manuscripts that they are going to have to go through to decide which of they might want to publish. Only then will they really start looking for new material, so They have plenty to work with at the moment. (At least that is my understanding of things.) 

So no animosity - Its just that Ken and I are nose to the grindstone types. From our perspective its been far too long since we've published a major rpg work and so we are proceeding with a project we have been slowly working on for some time. The newly-released sample art looks a lot like the Sleestaks from The Land of the Lost -- except these have four arms. I wonder if they hiss menacingly like leaky bicycle tyres and shoot really inaccurate crossbows!
