I'm a new hand at writing adventures for publication, but I've got a mini-solo (18 paragraphs, about 2,600 words) that I've workshopped with some of my friends and some people from the Tunnels & Trolls Facebook group (in fact, one of those people is the very Tom Pugh who has submitted a contribution!), and it has been getting pretty positive feedback. Someone there suggested I might try submitting it here for Trollszine #12. Its my first time writing a solo, but it seems like it has been reasonably fun for the people who have tried it. Would this have any potential as something that might fit into the new issue? If so, how would I best submit it? Received with excitement |

Hi, I'm a new member here but an old hand at T&T. Way back in 1983 I wrote an article on a Priestly class which was published in Sorcerer's Apprentice #17. I recently came across a copy of this and since the copyright reverted to me, I wonder if it might be appropriate for TrollsZine for historical purposes. If you are interested, please let me know and I'll pass on the revised and updated version.
I also have a much shorter treatment of Priests reflecting how I do it now, using SRs instead of a spell list for the main mechanic. I'd be happy to submit that as well, or in preference to the older version.

I remember that article in SA very well, we played Priestly characters a lot. Thank you! I'd love to see a full reprint, with the update, too.

I'm flattered and pleased that it's been useful. I found myself cringing a bit when I reread it - I have no idea what Past Me was thinking in some places, plus the Eurocentrism and implied sexual bias were appalling. And I didn't even alphabetize the spell list! I"m surprised SA didn't ask for a full rewrite when I submitted it.
Who should I send copies of the revision to?

For my part, I have a copy of Sorcerer's Apprentice issue 17 with your original article in it. I'd never ask you to violate anyone's copyright; my interest, and what I understood quogmyre's interest to be, was seeing your article reprinted in TrollsZine (as well as seeing what you updated). I think that it would be great to be able to share it with a new generation of T & T players!

I, for one, would very much like to see this blast from the past article. Especially as a newer-generation player, it's both useful and entertaining to see cool ideas from earlier publications that would otherwise be inaccessible come back to light...provided all the copyrights are squared away, of course!

I have made a .pdf document that's just the front cover of the issue and the article as printed. If anyone wants a copy of this version, PM me with your email address and I'll be happy to send it to you.
The version I submitted for TrollsZine 12 is substantially the same. I only had to rewrite one spell completely (Reincarnation - the old version was too wordy and complex and didn't do what I wanted it to).
