This is good, we're better defining our vision for this endeavor. I have found that people like choices even if they are small ones. It helps them feel included in the process rather than simply dictated to. With the whole list ishtar58 has provided for characters, perhaps that's enough choice, though. As I am a fan of Talents, I'd love to include them, perhaps a different Talent for each character. Is it necessary? No. If you only have a handful of players and 13 pre-gen characters to pick from, there's certainly enough variety to go around. I did some play-testing for Modiphius' Vampire: The Masquerade, their V5 Starter Kits. Characters were pre-gen but, of course, how you played them was completely up to you. I had a lot of fun with a "born again" Nosferatu who was completely convinced that his hideousness were his sins made visible by the Divine and this was his opportunity, as an angel, to make up for them. Perhaps some encouragement in the pamphlet to bring the characters to life through the players own vision would suffice. While obvious to us, someone new to TTRPGs may not realize there is that kind of freedom.

I included sections for Appearance & Demeanor and Background & Motivations (just a few sentences each). We could leave these blank and encourage the players to fill them in and use them for roleplaying cues.

How about, given that the Wizards get a 2nd level spell and already have a bit to gronk with spell casting, we only give Talents to Warriors. With a strong combat focus, to emphasise the use of SR during combat. That also helps make the Warriors diverse.
Yeah, the Players looking through the Cast while the GM gets up to speed on the adventure. On Game Night we're competing with the setup time of a boardgame. The sooner the game starts the better.
Looking at the Free Rules if the Characters and the GM Adventure are ready to rock, we've only got 2 pages of "Rules" to read. (bottom 3 through mid 5) Then game on.
I like to start my first timers with a stream crossing, they can wade, use stepping stones, or cross via a log. On the log is a stout goblin with a quarter staff. They learn SRs and basic 1v1 combat. Then onto a scene with group combat and spell casting. We've all done this I'm sure, tutorial mode ON.

Does anybody have a form fillable character sheet? I've found some that can be typed or filled in by hand, but nothing fillable. I've been working on a form I made in Word, but I'd like to have something that looks nicer.

You could try this thread, however: Tunnels and trolls character sheets. There are a number of them in there. I'm partial to Billiam Babble's posting on page 3. It's not a fillable pdf but looks quite nice and could probably be resized to fit on half a page. The PDF is provided for personal use so if we want to include it in the pamphlet we should probably reach out to him and ask if that's acceptable. He runs Inked Adventures. Contact info is posted on the Support, Errata, Extras page at the bottom. Heck, there's every possibility that he'd be willing to customize it a little specifically for 5th ed. and the playing guide. Could drive some interest his way.

Something clean would be better, I think,
eta: I came across a copy of the original demon head sheet for 5th edition. I had forgotten that thing had a space foe "Pets & Slaves". Yike!

That's a beautiful sheet, but I believe it's too complex for newbies... I was simply thinking of a little eye candy, but you're right there are a few things on there that wouldn't be relevant. We could always go true old-school and mimic the 3x5 card character sheet for Fang the Delectable in the 5th ed rules. Quite bare bones but it does a fantastic job at showcasing the simplicity of the system.

I decided to model a form after the official FBI sheet, and saved it as a .pdf. My husband is making it fillable for me. Then I can fill them in and save them individually or as one long document. I'd be happy to send you or whoever else a copy to look at before I fill everything in. This also means I don't have to write backgrouds for them all since there's no space for them now.

There is now a form fillable character sheet for 5th edition. I don't have a site to post it, so if you want a copy, PM me with your email addy.
I've given it a test run and ironed out a few wrinkles, and it works well if I do say so myself.

Now ready to give this some attention.
Is this worth looking at some 'best ofs from Trollszines past, that would be good for showing the ropes' ?
So far all I have is Ishtars pregen characters.
Any volunteers for any of the other material?

Nope, first I've heard of this. Stefanj mentioned a new book on its way in this thread but I didn't connect it with our brainstorming. Creative coincidence?

Which is great, others had the same concern and have come up with their solution. We'll look at this new book and see how we can augment it.

Which is great, others had the same concern and have come up with their solution. We'll look at this new book and see how we can augment it. I downloaded it last night. It’s full color and it uses a lot of Liz Danforth’s art. It’s got an article on the basics of the game, the mini-rules (the version using WIZ), the Buffalo Island solo, a simple GM adventure with a small town setting, NPCs, and suggestions for expanding the scenario if desired. There are four pre-gen characters for use in the solo and GM adventure, and also blank forms for making your own characters. There’s the 1980 GM Survival Kit, which is a set of reference charts for GMs and players, and maps of Rrr’lff and the Maneland. All in all, a good starter kit with excellent production values.
