I don't recall a standalone map included with the dT&T Kickstarter. 'Course, I could have missed it or simply don't recall right now. There's a series of images in the Atlas section of dT&T, Pgs 238-241 in the PDF. The first couple look like they would be a two page spread. Checking the PDF resolution I'm seeing 612 × 792, so, not a high resolution image even were both pages exported to PNG and stitched together. There are some official resources linked in this thread: Free Online Map Sources. Perhaps something there will help/inspire?

Had a quick (well, 10-15 mins with a cup of tea) play around to mock up the cover of book four. I use Paintshop Pro because whilst its a clone of earlier Photoshop programs (honestly I'm not sure how they got away with it because loads of the stuff in Photoshop I seen or know how to use from Paintshop) it's easier to use. Photoshop seems to be complicated or annoying with having to dig around in menus for the sake of it. Your mileage may vary of course. As for the Trollworld map I may just have to print the pages from the PDF and hope they don't come out too fuzzy. I tried using the pages as images to join in Paintshop and its illegible when you zoom in.

Three down one to go. You can tell where the laser printer was still being used for the cover, when the new inkjet printer got its first go and the third book was 'learn from the mistakes of book 2'. Ahem. Book 4 shall be 'learn from all previous mistakes'. I hope. EDIT: Really pleased with how the spray lacquer on the cover came out. I suspect that this is what printers use in the manufacturing process of books and really should have thought of it sooner but until I got the inkjet printer it wasn't really relevant. Yup, the inkjet printer + gloss paper + spray lacquer are game changers for me. Maybe... just maybe I'm PDF all the way from now on. Decided to recover Book one. Still has the laser printer cover showing on the spine but looks more like the other two now. The middle book has the horrid crinkly clear contact on which I could cover over I guess... Book 4 should be done by Friday if I get the bigger paper (A3+) on Thursday.

I've still to set about with the slipcase but finished book four today. It's been a learning curve as usual. Covers were always a sticking point and on Book 3 I decided I'd had enough of the old way of doing things and splashed out for an A3+ inkjet printer. Re-covered books 1+2. I went overboard with the lacquer on this book. The others have a matte feel/look and you can tell how deep the colours look on book 4 which will get the least use I reckon. Decided to go all 'toffee apple' on the cover by going over it till I could see it was a thick coating. Gets pricey doing that so I'll stick to the 2-3 short passes to coat/protect I would think. This turned out quite nice I thought. Thickest book of the four, probably get some use for the Trollworld stuff. I printed a colour map inside the cover but had a slight mishap with the glue+paper so it ended up lop sided. Another lesson learned. Messed up with the clear contact covering and it was final straw. Re-covered over the top and coated the page. This book will get the most use. Where I started with this weeks ago. Cover printed on the laser printer over six A4 sheets which were cut up and glued together. Didn't line up too bad but the colours came out very red instead of brown aged leather so it planted the seed of getting a new printer. By book 3 I'd had enough and got the wallet out. Still to make the slipcase. Going to take my time with that. Next book is a combined Basic/Expert Moldvay D&D book, where I started in 81. The point is:Webbed Sphere could easily do this and to a better standard than I can with PVA glue and craft knives and what have you. Kickstart it. Make the rules a small book of level 1-3 for starters and put it in a digest book or a boxed set. Split the book book into different tomes. Give the covers a unified look with the company logo somewhere. I'm just 'some guy' off the internet. No skills with this, I just followed tutorials and try to learn from my many mistakes. Book-binding is still reasonably new to me (I tried it in 08-09 then had a gap of years and only this year started to pump out more books) and I do things wrong all the time. I'll get better until I feel I can't learn any more then I'll find something else to learn.

Just an idea , would it be worth moving apn's amazing printing and binding efforts to a thread more relevant to his work? Unless he gets employed by webbed sphere of course

I wrote Webbed Sphere at their new corporate website which is eerily devoid of any specificities. It appears to be just a coldly generic, sterile corporate template of a website, of such a kind I've seen before. They didn't have a Job Listing page, as they said they aren't hiring at all. You'd think they'd need some personnel of some kind somewhere...

Yeah all quiet on the T&T front Maybe we should form an unofficial not attached in any way spin off 'Trollbridge' brand of support materials...

Maybe we should form an unofficial not attached in any way spin off 'Trollbridge' brand of support materials... I know there was a discussion around an SRD for T&T many years ago. My apologies, I don't remember the conversation well enough to summarize it here. But! Here's the link if anyone would like to read it over. Perhaps the environment has changed in 12 years. Help write an SRD?

Help write an SRD?Kismet. Having been out of things, I just pinged Steve and Ken about something analagous to Powered by The Apocalypse and they pointed me toward Webbed Sphere. Back when I was really excited about Roy Cram's supers project, and probably wrote more for Tom Loney's New Khazan (both in Trollzine and a shelved project) than I had any RPG in decades. Anyone know the status before I contact writers, reopen old wounds?

Help write an SRD?Ah thanks for the reminder. We've been there before and it came to nothing (and in the meantime DT&T became a thing). I think the problem I see with the Webbed Sphere company taking over the ownership of T&T is that they don't seem to be creative types - so far? Also, how 'official' is anything T&T without Ken and Liz inputting? Probably the best direction for any shared input project is to agree on a 'sort of T&T esque' ruleset to issue as an SRD. Ha! Good luck getting people to agree on their favourite bits! For me I think the Spite rules we adapted for the play by post seem to work pretty well so far (6 explodes, gives an extra die to add to HPT, 1 implodes, takes a die off your total and the two cancel each other out 1/1 basis). I get that not everyone likes that though because it's not 'official'...

I like the rule when I roll 6s apn. Though (to thoroughly mix the threads) as you were also talking about critical hits, the Spite rules as written sort of do that and we have effectively watered them down a bit. Being realistic it feels as though any significant creative impetus in the near future may have to come from players and enthusiasts (unless there is something really significant going on in WS-world I haven't heard of; which always a possibility). I'd like to think this group has some part to play in that.

...
Dice and adds with a comparison of both to determine winner (and damage) in melee combat. Attribute based saving rolls with DARO.
The rest is commentary.
