Klarrrrchur Deathaxe and Garilt:
Dwarf: 1359 AP.
STR: 700 AP = 71. LK: 220 = 23.
PER: 200 = 21. IQ: 160 = 17.
79 AP left.
Garilt: 944 AP.
STR: 180+190 = 370. For STR 20. 2nd-level, will take talent; either Sailing or Sea Leg (what is the best apn?).
LK: 130 = 14.
PER: 110+120 = 230, for PER 13.
CON: 110 = 12.
Leaves: 104.

I put Sea legs down. Every time the characters set off on the boat a check will be required. At some point every experienced sailor will have it and make those checks easier...

Apologies apn , DT&T missile rules are well...the rules analogy of the fact that there are cut and paste repeated talent sections in the book. More than spells, missiles can only overpowered or underpowered...Goldilocks is p^$$ed always. And regardless of your level of misunderstanding, I still keep thinking that missile adds exist. This thread is the most recent I've read re: issues with missile weapons: trollbridge.proboards.com/thread/4217/zenith-cityAnd here is how you handled things the last time I threw darts: trollbridge.proboards.com/thread/4187/area-chapter-half-high-peril?q=dartAnd that was after 10 pints*? Massive props to you (and whoever programmed your spellchecker)... *Doubly impressive once I realized that those pints weren't 12oz weak-a$$ American beers.

Massive props to you (and whoever programmed your spellchecker)... *Doubly impressive once I realized that those pints weren't 12oz weak-a$$ American beers. There is a sentence tucked away at the start of the dT&T combat rules which states that combat adds apply to missiles, though the example used is a bit dubious. Presumably wizards would still lose combat adds when using a missile weapon of more than 2d6. Logically I would prefer a system in which missing the target scores no damage, but I can think of both in-game and external reasons against doing it that way. >In-game, if we accept that a combat round is ~ 2 minutes, a lot more is happening than just pulling a bowstring. Maybe that is reflected in the rules. >Externally, a "hit or miss" rule makes missile weapons a more chancy proposition in group combat. Example: party falls into combat with a group of ants. Character has the choice of using a 4d6 melee weapon or a 6d6 missile weapon with a 50% chance of hitting. In such circumstances I would give serious consideration to using the melee weapon on the basis that I am guaranteed to score some hits - which will at least mitigate the damage scored against my comrades (unless I score 4 x implodes 😄). Nevertheless, I think it's worth doing some work on the missile rules because it feels as though shooting is something we should use more. As a tentative start, based on other things already discussed in the forum and in the knowledge that I'm about to contradict myself: - You either hit or miss the target. If you miss you score nothing.
- Your combat adds are applied to your saving roll to hit the target, not to damage inflicted. However...
- If you exceed the saving roll to hit, the excess score is applied to the damage roll as a combat add.
- All damage is applied to a single individual (before melee damage is calculated). Any excess after that individual is killed, is applied to a second individual, and so on until all individuals are killed or the missile damage expended. (I call this the Odysseus rule.) Individuals killed by missiles still fight in that round.
- Then resolve melee damage in the normal way, adding in the missile damage as normal.
I'll have to run through some scenarios with missile & melee combat on both sides because I have a nagging feeling I've forgotten something.

Not sure how much updating I can get done this week guys. Just about to go out for breakfast and then be out all day (and most of the night I expect). Been somewhat hammered every day (I thought I'd have a Gin & Tonic last night to steady the ship and the measure was something like 5-6x the normal amount. So much for that 'steady the ship' tactic).
Anyway, apologies if the missile weapon resolution was done wrong/improperly. I'll have to have a look back to see what i posted. Back Saturday night so expect Sunday update at the latest if not before then.
Cheers, Paul

Back in one piece after the Lanzarote adventure. French air traffic control tried to ruin things both in and outbound with 90 mins delay on each and the flight back last night got very close to being cancelled (and everyone found hotels) because of the delay. That would have been messy. As it is I got in about 2230 (rather than 2100) and scraped up enough sleep to get up for work at 0400 this morning Currently entertaining my son (video and board games) but he is RPG curious so he's watching me type as I reel out an update. Any typos are his fault as is me blathering on and making no sense. I'm already cringing at the thought of reading what drunk me the other day typed out. Nnngh. Anyway, back, Expect updates etc. Cheers, Paul

I find delays whilst flying are inevitable, though annoying. Some years ago BA excelled itself by delivering me to the wrong city (Glasgow when I was aiming for Edinburgh). My propensity for rolling fumbles also extends into real life... 🙄
Anyway, welcome back.

@ mosker
Eh, just notice your are at 3 for 13 CON, is that right.
Eh, I a bit attach to Garilt, but would you want to play Farrick and allow Üdhaav a journey back to ship with the Vampyre?
