Success:So, just added BC LIII to list ( in first post). Also... Wandering Monsters Level III.And... Random Patrol Level III.At bottom of first page... So, have done about 4+ days of serious editing and agh, this it looks fine, whether it 100% is questionable, but it is definitely playable... Again as expected Level III will be more dangerous, but my mind thinks 3rd-level or 4th-level and with the MR chart to balance encounters it could be higher, because it could suit a 10th-level delver if he fighting created encounters, so... Good luck....

Return to thee Buffalo Castle:This is a babble of stuff I typed over last few weeks to tell the folk of Trollbridge my intent:
But, it might read as the Babble Babble spell that affects me constantly?
I use Mediafire, which is a good downloading site, but I mentioned before in another post, but it can throw non-sense at you, so ignore it.
Warning, this site is good and I enjoyed in for many, many years; 5 or 6, so it does work, but sometimes, even for me, I might get a window thrown in my face.
So just pause...
Take a breath and wait, count to five and click little X at top right of window, you not need any of their downloads to get this PDF, just click big blue button thingy in the black rectangle thingy and it will appear in yer Download file. It might say error, but that nonsense as the error is: it (the PDF) has gone; that is because it in yer download file, it not perfect but it still works!
Read This First (How to use Old Solo Dungeons For Reuse): www.mediafire.com/file/zl7w2me18dwhfhp/How_to_use_Old_Solo_Dungeons_For_Reuse.pdf/file
So here is Buffalo Castle Level II: www.mediafire.com/file/le6lr8kykj5nnp4/Buffalo_Castle_Level_II.pdf/file
Buffalo Castle Level III: www.mediafire.com/file/j00wlp309yhfx78/Buffalo_Castle_Level_III.pdf/file
In these passages (get it?); 'Passages and Penguins?' just a joke... Well it for deluxe edition, and I just noted the numbers in 5.5E are different for that BC solo adventure at back of book. I not realise they did numbers different, so if any reference to some places is confusing for folks who not have the deluxe solo I am very aaaghhged about it!!!
Still, it not that expensive as a PDF: Buffalo Castle T&T solo - Flying Buffalo | DriveThruRPG.com
And hopeful most folks have a copy of this solo adventure to comprehend what I mentioning in text.
Some of the things mentioned in the 'How to use Old Solo Dungeons For Reuse,' PDF (Read this PDF first, it gives some history of region, plus what got me motivated to add to this Solo Adventure) have not been finished, like the:
Buffalo Castle Level III: (Still being work on, but thought folks might enjoy Level II first), still there will be areas connecting to Level III, how else are you going to get there and if noticed, and attempt they will go nowhere without the Level III PDF, so hmm??? (LIII: 20% complete).
Buffalo Castle, Add On and Aid: This is an important aid for BC, new changes to rooms: making new rooms and old different; this is to make the solo adventure interesting in concept of a surprise... This however is not needed till Levels II and III are delved, so no rush... (work in process).
Other PDFs
For Level II, I created a go to in the BCLII PDF concerning a new format for WMs called Random Patrols (RP), but it fixed into the text of Level II PDF now and would be more work than necessary to remove format (to add to a separate PDF as I done for other WM lists). It is not killing adventure it being there, but I realised I needed a new format. So creating PDF for WM for Level I, II and Level III (and RP III) so they not the same power, etc.
Note: I just created a new MR power/encounter chart in last few days which I think actually works for close encounters (WM/RP), so give Chart of MR Encounter PDF a read also.
Chart of MR Encounter: www.mediafire.com/file/jgrfisbkt7nym87/Chart_of_MR_Encounter.pdf/file
Wandering Monsters for LI: These MR for monster I believe are still for 1st-Edition and still considering possibilities, but as mentioned in PDF, if one rolled a Giant Spider to use if wanting a reasonable fight to use the charts from the Chart of MR Encounter PDF.
www.mediafire.com/file/0442its8ka2lunn/Wandering_Monsters_for_LI.pdf/file
Wandering Monsters for LII: www.mediafire.com/file/13eagej97skevvd/Wandering_Monsters_for_LII.pdf/file
Wandering Monsters for LIII: www.mediafire.com/file/9i2ooxi0s3bbukw/Wandering_Monsters_for_LIII.pdf/file
Random Patrol Level III: www.mediafire.com/file/7xwe6k71fjvk7w6/Random_Patrols_for_LIII.pdf/file
So, that is it for present, I work at BCLIII at moment, plus other things that only an Evil Solo Writer can know, ha, ha, haaaaa!!!
So enjoy BCLII and remember, you are not starting an adventure, but one-third of your way through the actual adventure, so reactive these delvers who first explore BC and hurl them back into their deaths, well you know what I mean. I have tried to be reasonable, but it also a killer Dungeon, created to kill, but I also have tried to offer ways for a delver to win, escape and be victorious also, so this is a Playtest but I prefer you enjoy it as an adventure, other that finding every spelling error you find, but you opinions are wanted and help me balance the solo better if needed. I truly enjoyed this and think it is not bad???
So, delve deep and stay alive.....
So, I played your solo a couple of days ago; my character barley got out alive, whit a crossbow bolt in her chest - but she is heeding back though! It was great fun. I like the layout: weary easy to navigate with the paragraphs in named folders to left. I prefer it too the BC pdf, where you must scroll up and, down which can get a bit tedious. I did not use your pdf for balanced encounter, which I think is good, because I like the idea whit and adventure where you can decide when you want to head back for the exit, which you now is guarded: how far do you dare to delve? So even if an encounter can be a “push over”, your character can still get some spite damage, bite by bite get worn down. It becomes a game of resource management, and I like that. Another factor you can add is light sources, how long will your torch last. And there I think that one paragraph could be one turn, for time keeping. I also liked the illustrations – are the creative commons pictures?

I suppose it difficult to judge effect on an average 2nd-level delver, but tried instinct to work it properly, but sometimes it just the roll of the dice that dictates whether a delver lives or ides... You go into 3rd-level? Amongst pictures is Liz Danforth, Frank Frazetta, Carver and many more, most (or half) from a goggle on internet. I type in for example Elf Sketches, go into pictures and scroll through. Taking dungeon section or varied monsters I can find. I also sketched one picture and a couple quickly on my computer (with photoshop 10) to describe what I typing, or taking pieces of the picture, for example a chest and creating an effect...

I’m still on level 2. I took me a long time to go through all the goodies in the first room, I choose not to go through the magic wall, but noted its existence; I had me a couple of encounters, then I took a turn, fumbled a SR on dex and got a bolt in my chest; since it was a fumble my armor didn’t help. To stay alive, I use your rule to avoid death and managed to escape after a finale encounter at paragraph 2A.

Nice 1, it sound interesting, it an easy L1SR, but a fumble is a fumble is a fumble. I hate to state, but folks failing actually helps me see if the rules help them survive, cheers Trolletgunnar, it nice to know for bad or worse that some problems can still allow delver to survive!? Good stuff...

Good stuff... I prefer to be given a lifeline, even if you fumble. I mean, even if I was still alive after the bolt, I was still in deep Sh**. I think it’s frustration when your’ flat out dead if you pick the “wrong” option. In “Death trap equalizer”, for instance, there is a Basilisk behind one door, without the player having any way of knowing, that will turn you to stone – bam! – like that. Ten to fifteen minutes of character creation; two minutes of play – not so fun. But I guess it was the way they wrote adventures back then?!

Yeah, I think GM own game for more reasonable results. A L2SR on CON might have worked to endure effect.
Same with BC, Medusa, yeah, no chance...

Furthermore: I will use your encounter pdf, to adapt solos adventure to suit the characters. Some of the published adventures, especially the older ones, require character of very high level, Misty woods for instance, were it states that you shouldn’t have more than 110 adds; well I would be so lucky…

I working at Dargon's Dungeon at present and Calamitus Castle, so will try it later. Maybe I can adapt also. But, I got a few dozen solos to do and enjoy just having them there when I need to entertain self... Also working at Uncle Ugly's Underground DOOM; adding a few new levels...

Downloaded level 3 last night. I will have a look at it in the next few days. I don't think I've fully explored level 2 yet, though. Mostly there.
One thing I did like about Deathtrap Equalizer was the chance of starting the adventure at multiple locations. Though there were some dice rolls I learned to dread. I would have liked to see those multiple locations fit together though. I think it was the first solo I ever played - can't remember why I didn't do the logical thing and start with BC.

Major Error Found in BC LII:
Well Houndle has done well, found a drastic flaw by yours truly in LII...
So, that it fixed, thank goodness this is a playtest post...
See first post for new link to v2 of BC LII...
Note: Had not mastered room to room editing which I think I did better in LIII, but keep yer eyes open. Any flaws and I can fix in a few minutes...
Cheers to Houndle once more...
