I always played Slush Yuck as changing the rock somewhat, since it's messing up the molecular bonds. Sort of like the difference between natural wood and particle board, if you like. It's not too difficult to tell, at least initially, where something has been affected by Slush Yuck in my world.
So for me, your idea with the gems wouldn't work, or at least would devalue them considerably. It's an interesting idea though.

I like the idea that it matters if you have followers, hirelings and such; the adventurer having like entourage. And also Charisma have a tendency to be a dump stat, and I think that's too bad. I like anything that forces people to test on unusual things trolletgunnar. Keep people on their toes. One of mind has a test on weight carried to trap people who bring the kitchen sink into the adventure. My rogue lost most of his followers through hiding behind them in a fight.  |

Followers can be good gun fodder sometimes. That's the upside with the T&T combat system. NPC's can't complain the same way as other players after all. I wish your rouge good lcuk and godspeed!
