HELLO!
It's tricky to join in a game which has started and been going for a little while. You may feel left behind, lonely, lost. I suggest going out to the pub with some mates and cheering up, but if you do want to join in, here are some stats to assign to a character.

apn: Stats for any new players to join:
apn rolls repeat 8 3d6 =
3 +6 +4 (13)
3 +1 +5 (9)
5 +2 +4 (11)
4 +3 +5 (12)
4 +1 +2 (7)
2 +3 +4 (9)
4 +2 +3 (9)
1 +2 +3 (6)
These were generated on rolz.org which is a dice rolling website. If you pop along there with a username and password then join the High_adventure dice room with the password Trollbridge you can have a look around and see what it's about. Basically a place to roll dice and for everyone to see that nobody is cheating.
If those stats (above) look garbage don't worry too much. The Tunnels and Trolls game allows you to pick a race (kindred) that can multiply your stats to something more respectable. Also with such a low starting point you'll advance quite quickly (if your character survives). About that. If your character expires you can start with a new one with your current total earned experience less 10%.
As another bonus if those stats are too rubbish for you roll up two more characters and pick the best one. TARO (triples add and roll over) applies so if you get a triple result you're a) lucky and b) going to have a decent starting character who might be higher than 1st level.
As for all the other stuff a Delver needs to join in, I will assign equipment and a starting position in the game and a reason for being there.
For example if someone were to join in at this moment:
You were part of a work party clearing trees in the jungle but the pay is lousy, the work is hard and dangerous and you are always sweating because of the jungle heat. What's more this just feels wrong. The loggers have no care for the animals or the environment and slash/burn away at the trees without thought other than for profit. Added to that, they aren't very nice people and you've seen some things that make you think about a career change.
After sabotaging a monstrosity of a steam powered tree cutter you run off into the jungle chased by half a dozen Uruck (Orc) guards. Having outpaced them you come to a halt and find yourself with little in the way of food or possessions and no idea where you are. It's a good job you can hear voices chit chatting along with the sounds of an axe hacking its way through the jungle to make a path. Hopefully they are friendly, because this jungle is teeming with things not so friendly...
We use Deluxe Tunnels and Trolls with some house rules. Play by post doesn't play exactly the same as face to face so we need to tweak things a bit, and besides that some of the rules are a bit wonky Hey, nobodies perfect.
As the GM I only have a few requests/rules. One is if you are going to be AWOL for any length of time, please let us know in the OOC area. Your character will be run as an NPC until you get back or simply slide off into the background if you can't/don't want to come back. No bridges are burned, no grudges held. Real life takes precedence and that applies to everyone. Another rule is that if there is any doubt about rules or situations, the Player Characters always get the benefit of it.
When you post if you can post in the format of (for example)
Player Name
Dialogue/thoughts/description of actions
Actions
So here's an example of a post:
Clud the Werebear
Clud couldn't help himself. At every opportunity he'd lean up against a tree and scratch his back. It felt soooo good. Everything else just faded into the background, he'd not a care in the wor... oh oh. mid scratch he looked at the Goblin Guards who were in turn stood looking at him up against a tree scratching his back. Then he remembered to stay hidden he needed to go through the trees and bushes, creeping silently and not heading straight out into the clearing and up against the nearest tree. Man, it felt good though... groaned the bear.
ACTIONS
Roll for DEX L1SR for Stealth as he tries to creep through the trees past the goblin guards (in Were Bear form)... roll 2D6... 1 +2=3 FUMBLE
Posting rate can be tricky. It all depends on your schedule (work, kids, significant other, time near a keyboard) and time zone. Some of us operate on GMT so sort of post at the same time, others don't. There's no hard and fast rule but maybe, I don't know, a few times a week? Every day would be ideal and to be honest the game has flashed by at quite a pace so far but at some point it will slow. That's life.
<This is a 'living' post and will be amended when I think of more stuff to add>
