Klarrrrchur Deathaxe:
Klarrrrchur was in awe of Will's magic to know his actions before he did them. “So, yer a Warrior-Wizard Will? I did not know you were so potent?!”
He paused to explain his actions, “if we enter a corridor, not a cabin, the ship usually has doors to stop wind and rain from getting into the interior of the ship. Especially the aft where the cabins are. Captain's cabin, officers' and important passengers. This will be secluded from the rest of the ship by what we civilized people called doors. You have any doors back on the farm Will?”
“I sad to say we Dwarves cannot see in the dark, though by the gods we should, but it is not the way. But since Master Firdle is not here with a magical light spell, we just have to use these primitive; almost caveman implements or tools as some would call them to see our way in the Black of night!” The Dwarf grunts, “and just so you so know Will I not exactly lying on a bed of cushions at this present moment either. Now onwards, it was your idea to save this wrench and we can only hope to find him in one piece and not missing a few legs!”
Actions:
Actions of Dwarf... Rush to sound of screams.

Will Darness Suitably chastened, Will vows not to make any further objections. Except...
"We did have doors in the farmhouse," he thinks . "But that was mostly to stop the donkey wandering in. I hope we don't meet one of those down here."

The Delvers move 'north' along the corridor towards the front of the ship.
The screaming was followed by clattering and clanging noises.
The galley was a pair of swing doors off the corridor which were still swinging and the pair of Adventurers saw a glimpse of what was happening.
It was lunchtime and a pair of ghoulish pirates were tucking into the starter, which was a gurgling Sailor who weakly pounded at a head with what remained of his failing strength. One Ghoul was biting into the unfortunates' thigh and hot blood gushed over the floor and ran through to the deck below...
The other, getting head pounded on but not taking much notice was pulling entrails from the Pirates' stomach. Slippery snakelike innards were being pulled and bitten down on.
Aside from making the stomach churn the scene had a clear conclusion. No way was that Sailor surviving.
Beyond, the Galley area had pans and pots being thrown at another Ghoul by two sailors. One had a rolling pin and the other was throwing pots and pans at a Ghoul which was crouching and hissing at the pair of sailors as they tried to keep the food preparation table/bench between them and it.
The Ghoul had a meat cleaver jutting from its shoulder. It didn't seem to mind and left it there as it went one way then the other to catch out the two sailors.
They continued to throw pans, a side of ham, a chopping board, a string of onions, a waterskin (boing! as it bounced off the ghouls head) and anything that came to hand.
Unfortunately they were running out of things to throw.
The fellow on the floor stopped screaming, his cries now coming out as a blood flooded gurgle as the Ghouls feasted on him on the floor.
OOC The doors to the galley swing in and out to aid entry without needing to do anything but push. About five foot into the room the downed sailor is being gobbled by two ghouls and about ten feet after that is the bench in the room centre with a ghoul chasing two sailors around it.

Will Darness Will is in a quandary. Common humanity would demand that he assist the unfortunate sailors. But he doubts he could take on even one ghoul without Klarrrrchur's help.
He also notes that Klarrrrchur's cunning plan of barring the doors will be tricky because of the double hinges.
Rush in and help or creep past and hope no-one notices? Will favours attack on the basis that they have the advantage of surprise and the odds aren't too great. Clearly these things are immune to pain so it will be a case of lopping off limbs.

Klarrrrchur Deathaxe:
“I am sure most common plans of ships is to have normal door to the outside of ship!” But he disregards it as a waste of time and rushes towards the single Ghoul with Mace and Deathhacker.
The two Ghouls munching on the dying man might just be stupid enough to not notice the threat as once the Dwarf hacks the head off the solitary Ghoul. Then they would be next.
Actions:
Actions of Dwarf... I presume there is light here as Sailors need to see. But want to place torch in a sconce on wall or drop it into a bucket of sand at present.

Klarrrrchur sets the torch in the bracket in the narrow corridor.
With a nod to Will the experienced warrior hefts both weapons, considers the Ghouls chomping on the gurgling unfortunate then points at the one chansing the two sailors around the preparation table.
Banging through the pair of swing doors Will and Klarrrrchur rush in!
Unfortunately acting with haste means stealth isn't possible but the two Ghouls barely look up from feasting as they snap and snarl at each other then see the Delvers. They adjust, so they still feed and tear at flesh but with the body in between the Delvers and them.
No one is taking their prize from them apparently.
Closing in on the single Ghoul the well practised pair (had it only been three or four days since they met?) form a team. Thrust, swing, hack, slash, kick, crack, backswing, headbutt, nothing is off the menu as the Ghoul finds out!
OOC
K Deathaxe 147 W Darness 65 (12 Vorpal) Delvers: 212
Ghoul 100MR (with special abilities triggered by multiples of the same number besides the usual ex/implode. You guys probably know what Ghouls do...) Two of same number=nothing Three of same number=target makes a L1SR on Con. Fail means they start to become paralysed reducing all physical stats by the numbers on the dice (so three 4s means -4) till the end of the fight. Four of same number=target makes a L2SR on Con. Fail means they start to become paralysed reducing all physical stats by the numbers on the dice (so four 4s means -4) till the end of the fight. Five of same number=target makes a L3SR on Con. Fail means they start to become paralysed reducing all physical stats by the numbers on the dice (so five 4s means -4) till the end of the fight. Six or more of same number= L4SR vs Con or target paralysed! They keel over and are frozen in place until the fight ends! The paralysed target can attempt a L4SR vs Con every round. Success means the paralysis wears off.
1s and 6s not counted (they explode and implode as usual)
apn rolls 11d6+50 = 2 +4 +6 +6 +1 +2 +1 +6 +3 +3 +5 + 50=89 no extra effect and 1 explode apn rolls 1d6 = 5 gives Total 94
Klarrrrchurs' swordsman would have countered the paralysis effect had it occurred. It didn't but he gets 11AP for the successful check (and that would have been multiplied by the Con SR Level if the Ghoul had gotten lucky so a L4SR on Con countered by the roll of 11 would give 44AP). As an experienced warrior Klarrrrchur can see the Ghoul isn't just attacking with natural weapons (tooth and claw) but just trying to touch bare skin as well, so fending off with Swordsman is nigh on vital!
In this case, the Delvers...
Will rams his sword through the arm of the Ghoul which howls, then hacks at its chest! The creature brings its arms up and reaches for Will as his blade slams into the forearms of the foul creature. It roars in pain and Klarrrrchur bats the hands away before slamming down with the axe - the arm shears off at the shoulder and swing... CHUD!!! with the mace spraying the Ghouls head across the wall of the galley!
The headless creature topples to the side and black ichor sprays across the wooden floor...
Now the two Ghouls take notice! They stand and charge at the Delvers! The two petrified Sailors have no idea who the newcomers are and duck down behind the food preparation bench.
A lantern swinging in the corner casts light to and fro as it sways with the motion of the ship and the Delvers turn to face the new threat! The light is dim though, the oil long since past the point where it would normally be filled up and it might go out soon!
Two Ghouls!
Double trouble!
OOC Go!

Will Darness Will fights on grimly. He calls the sacred might of Asuwil into play once more OOC spends 5 WIZ to trigger the Vorpal effect. As he thrusts, parries and swings he keeps a careful eye on the ghouls, ready to dodge OOC for which he has a talent if slashing claws or naked skin get too close.
OOC incidentally I presume the "him" Klarrrrchur is referring to is himself not Will...

OOC yeah...
"Knowing Will's weakness, the sturdy Dwarf tries to focus the attention of the Ghouls onto him."
That made me raise an eyebrow but I get what you mean - drag the Ghouls towards you, Klarrrrchur as Will has lower Con and (only a few days ago game time) would have trouble walking down the street in full armour.
Delvers: W Darness 74 (13 Vorpal) Klarrrrchur 131 (Swordsman counters any/all touching from ghouls) Total 205 (13 Vorpal)

The crystal vorpal sword leaves barely a mark when pull out from an opponents body until the wound separates and black ichor pumps forth! The Elven sword 'punches above its weight' with the magic command uttered under Wills' breath. Klarrrrchur pounds, hacks and smashes, as is his wont. The Ghouls fall back battered but then dive forward again, their nature pushing them on as they see meals dancing about with weapons in front of them! The only eating (it seems) the Ghouls will be doing now is the steel of the Delvers! OOC Round 3! Go!

Will Darness A smile touches Will's lips as he battles on. The song of Asuwil's fury is like an addiction. Will is lost in the moment, the joy of battle.

OOC W Darness 110 (Vorpal 21) K Deathaxe 148 (and yet another Daro! for Swordsman) Total 258 (Vorpal 21)
Ghouls (22D6 + 68) apn rolls 22d6+68 = 2 +2 +6 +2 +1 +1 +6 +1 +5 +3 +6 +3 +3 +2 +5 +3 +1 +3 +6 +3 +2 +3 + 68=137 no ex/impl
Seven threes triggers the paralysis... normally. Klarrrchurs' swordsman fending keeps those pesky hands at bay though! He earns 68AP for his efforts (total now 150).
121 difference plus Vorpal apn rolls 2d6 = 2 +1=3 Fumble! The blade shatters and... oh wait. We have new rules for that. Here we go...
This is a HIGH consequence fumble. That means we roll three sets of DARO dice and the HIGH set applies as the cost of rerolling that Fumble (which I assume Will does).
apn rolls 2d6 = 4 +2=6 LOW apn rolls 2d6 = 6 +6=12 HIGH apn rolls 2d6 = 3 +4=7 MEDIUM apn: DARo on that 12... apn rolls 2d6 = 4 +5=9
It will cost Will 21 Luck points to reroll that fumble... That will put Will on -4 Luck (he has -1 already but his magic feather gives him +1 to cancel that out). His adds will as a result drop from 21 -5 -4 = 12 Adds. Better that than lose the Crystal sword (especially with those rolls)
We are so close to the end of the chapter now that you won't suffer for long!
Will Darness -4 Luck +12 Adds till end of chapter
apn rolls 2d6 = 3 +6=9
Better!
Delvers 267 vs Ghouls 137 (with 30 Vorpal)
Ghoul #1 takes 30 Vorpal (down to 27MR) then takes 27 damage (dead!). The other Ghoul takes 77 damage (down to 11D6 +1 add and 2MR)
Blood sprays black and oily as Klarrrrchur shatters a Ghouls' face! Will feels his luck alter and the gods laugh at him but still flicks the crystal sword left, right and follows up with Asuwil to deprive the other Ghoul of its head!
The body sways and black oil/sludge pours across the floor as the body topples!
The remaining Ghoul staggers backwards, lower jaw gone and face a ruin! It tries to hiss but it comes out as a wet gurgle and the thing staggers. It might have been a Pirate at one time but its already rough appearance had been lessened by the 'change' and now the thing was a mewling, hissing, gurgling staggering mess. Drunkenly swaying as the ruin of its face flaps on its chest (OOC let me know if I ever get too graphic!) and leaving a trail of slops and gobbits across the floor.
OOC It's pointless talking to these things. Plus, it can't actually say anything because half a face so...
Klarrrrchur backhands the mace across the rest of the Ghouls' head and the thing splatters across the floor...
OOC Fight over. You earn 450AP (Klarrrrchur total 600AP) and 540AP (Will with 20% total 560AP)
One of the sailors peers over the bench that had been used for food but was now covered in bits of face and black oily blood.
"Is it... are they... gone? Who are you?" he says with a trembling voice.

Will Darness Will looks narrowly at the Crystal sword. That's the second time it has nearly let him down. He taps it dubiously before returning it to rest.
"It seems you have a problem with vermin in your galley," he remarks. "What in Hic's* name has been going on? And are there any more of these things around?"
*OOC. Hic, as is well known, is the deity of Trollworld's viniculturists. Often invoked after imbibing unwisely.
