So to continue...
If you manage to control the swirling/whirling/crackling ball of Chaos Magic points and form it into a sphere of energy by passing the Saving Throw at the appropriate level + modifier of however many points you gathered, you can add that many points to the next chaos magic spell you cast in the time before the duration runs out. If you don't use the Chaos Magic at the end of the rounds you made the saving throw for, the energy dissipates, seeking to be free and harmlessly fizzles away albeit with light and noise.
Example:
Jiggardy Jim the somewhat insane fellow who lives below the bridge on Quarter street in Khazan was once a famed Wizard who fell from grace after an accident with a birthday, the Royal family of a minor kingdom, some doves and an exploding cake.
Some Urucks come sniffin about looking to see if there's anything of value in the mess he calls his dwelling. Jiggardy Jim considers the large Urucks towering over him, all teeth, muscles and bad intentions. He summons up a Take That You Fiend! but holds the energy whilst they are chatting...
JJ's player spends the 6 Wiz (somewhat reduced for JJ's level) and his 40 IQ summons up 18D6+4 but with implodes and whatnot only comes up with 27 Chaos Magic points. Hmmm, time to stall the Urucks and gather some more energy. JJ's player makes a L1SR (target number 20) plus 27 (target number 47) and passes that successfully with a roll of 11 (JJs total for the save is 51 vs the Target Number of 47).
The Urucks had heard of the madman living under the bridge but also rumours of riches too. Three against one. Even with magic he'd only get one of them before they cut him down, right?
"Wait!" said Jiggardy Jim, hand down at his side holding a sphere of energy. "Rather than getting messy, I'll do a trick and you get a chance to guess how I'm doing it!" He held up the ball of energy, raising the Urucks eyebrows.
"How's ee doin' that?" snarled one Uruck.
"Just smoke n lights." snarled another.
"Mirrors, done be mirrors t'aint it?" said the third.
"Not Quite." said Jiggardy Jim.
He casts another Take That You Fiend! and this time the dice are kind, his 18D6+4 conjuring up 76 points to add to his previous 27 to total 103 points which he immediately unleashes against one of the Urucks!
The Uruck, with MR100, vanishes in a flash of exploding flesh leaving some boots (and feet inside) with his buddies showered in entrails and bits!
"Who's next?" bluffs Jiggardy Jim with a smile. The Urucks look at each other then turn and scarper!
Seeing them go JJ breathes a sigh of relief, wipes some Uruck splatter out of his hair and sighs again. Time to move. They'll be back in numbers and he got lucky. They'd have hacked him down had they kept their nerve. Instead of easy money one of them had been blasted to smithereens and the remaining pair had been scared off. They'd be back though, and Jiggardy Jim wouldn't be there when they did...
