Hi all
I had an email from the admin at DrivethruRPG saying they were deactivating my pay-what-you-want Ferverax GM adventure until Webbed Sphere can discuss new licensing rules with me. Has this happened to anyone else? All been cordial so far and I'm not complaining, I just wondered if anyone else had run into the same situation and made any progress in getting re-instated.
I've emailed Webbed Sphere and am waiting to see what they say.
Cheers
Andrew

I would reach out to those who still have works up there (I did a search by system) outside of Ken's Trollgodfather Press and FBI. I can't remember how Trollbridge names match so...sorry for the limited help.

This sucks. I'm pretty sure I bought Ferverax, and can't see it in my library. Maybe I'm wrong, but all T&T GM adventures are pretty much "buy on sight" for me. I don't seem to have downloaded it, either, which is definitely my MO. So, maybe I'm wrong. d**n.
Edit: I just bought it on itch.io. Problem solved.

Glad to have printed out my Tavernmaster goodies as I purchased them...Might be time to finish my Khagggboom and Peryton (what hasn't been rebranded M!M!) catalog before it's too late.

Okay, I've had a response from Webbed Sphere - to the effect that all T&T products must either be published or licensed by them, and that there will likely be submission guidelines soon.
I really do hope this includes some kind of light touch 'opt-in via including a clause' for third party stuff, because in my opinion T&T as a community is going to live-or-die by fan made projects at this point.

We chatting about this one?andrewwalter.itch.io/ferverax-a-tt-adventureNow I getting it Andrew, you created it, I was not sure of the problem. Cannot see how they can halt your product with the other T&T games out there, but they must be getting pernickety? Sad for your troubles...

That's the one. I've not been contacted via Itch, I suppose I should deactivate it on there too? I mean - the adventure is and always will be free/PWYW so I'm not even really sure how that modifies things.

Yes, was editing my post above... A free adventure, this does not seem right.

Interesting. Does that include the little bits of PDFs I've uploaded on here I wonder?
"Find&Replace" T&T -> M!M! perhaps.
*edit* In saying the above, I fully understand that WS quite legitimately want to protect their property and I wish them all the best with that. It's somewhat worrying though that there doesn't currently seem to be much evidence of their activity to bring new material to the market.

T&T has primarily been fan supported for the past three or four decades. It was the fans who kept it going and shared the message. Certainly it is within WS right to lock it down and take it private, but their lack of interest in producing any new support material doesn't bode well for the future of the game, hopefully they prove me wrong. Dropping the T&T name from your product and switching to M!M! is a viable alternative and probably the best course for an independent producer since the T&T name will probably never be available to third parties ever again. Monsters! Monsters! on the other hand, shares the same rule set as T&T but is not owned or controlled by WS. Also, Ken and company are not wasting time in supporting M!M! and seem open and eager to allowing third party support as well.

I'm really quite new to the game but from my reading over the last few years this of all roleplaying games really does seem to be the one where it's never been 'top down' from any particular creators/company but has been dependent on a small but very enthusiastic group of third party players and makers.

We at TavernMaster games have also been affected by this I hope WS will allow us to continue to publish in the future. Otherwise, we'll have to switch to M!M!

Did you have a license with Flying Buffalo (from before the sale)? I thought you all did and up until now I thought that was holding. We did viva . Hopefully, something will get sorted soon. ! ! ! Contracts usually survive a sale and, by operation of law, automatically assign to the purchaser of the assets (Webbed Sphere); they would not normally automatically terminate or otherwise become invalid. Did it have termination for convenience, right to withdraw the license at any time or some kind of explicit "non-survival if acquisition" clause? Clauses like that are, in part, what sunk those new D&B OGL drafts but maybe they were there... But I'm pretty sure Steve at least partially put these out there so they would transfer and protect the publishers. I know the main thing was to protect the T&T rights but protecting the publishers was also cited. But I never saw one and if I know anything more than T&T it is contracts (and Summoners War and residual knowledge of Everquest). So odd. Anyone have an unexecuted version of that license agreement? I don't think Steve ever posted one. I'm so curious...
