To return to the original question... After reading the rules again I'm not sure I really understand them. If self-healing adds 1 to CON after each combat round, and the maximum damage in each round is 1 point, doesn't this make the character effectively immune to cumulative damage effects? Also, what does "extra attack" mean? Is it simply the ability to re-roll any failed attacks?
I feel the need to tackle Cat Goddess again using these rules to make sure I fully understand the implications. And then find someone with no experience of RPGs and try something similar.

So I went through the Cat Goddess solo using only the easy play rules, and it worked fine. I suspect that is partly because the solo is well written (though some of the content may verge on being too "adult" for a younger audience - to reignite an old controversy). The one thing I missed was a rule on Saving Rolls, which I took as a straight 50/50 roll (I did consider the advisability of introducing a new special ability "lucky": re-roll a failed saving roll by paying 1xCON.)
Thinking about combat, by my calculation the player has a 3/8 chance of winning a 50/50 roll two times out of three. For solos with a lot of fighting that may be tough. I considered (but didn't use) a small tweak to the rule:
"For each round of combat, roll 1 die. If you roll 4-6 you win the round. To win the combat, you need to win a total of two rounds. You may fight as many rounds as you need to, but each time you lose a round deduct 1 from your CON. If your CON reaches 0, you lose the game.
"Characters with self-healing recover 1 CON at the end of each fight, up to their normal maximum."

Thanks for all the help! Greatly appreciated!

Love the POD option: as much as I appreciate the pro print job (is "offset" the word I'm looking for?)on Monsterary and other products, making it easy to get physical copies of anything...

SO there are a couple of pre-gen characters in the new solo and a 7 page GM section in the back that will allow you to run this solo as a GM adventure. Ken and I have decided that we're going to add a Gm section to all the M!M! solos going forward. This makes the book twice as useful so you can play the solo a bunch of time and then run it as an adventure for your friends. We have seen that some people have bought these just so they can run it and it appears that solo players just enjoy looking at the supplemental material after they have played it a bunch - so its a win -win.
This solo (JUNGLE JEOPARDY) will not have the M!M! mini-rules but it does have the Easy Play rules and an M!!M character sheet.
MOSKER - Sarah IS working on a crossover adventure where her world and ours will crossover - once she has written her part, Ken and I will add our part to it. Should be a fun project!
Steve
