Yes! I especially love Hnurk. Do you think Clemp is a good name for a girl? Keep 'em coming, and meanwhile I'll show my gratitude by exalting you.

Clemp sounds vaguely feminine, for a troll name.

Dandelion, I hope these will be of use:
Gnaath, Spurrt'k, Grunaht, Lormstn, Buloork, Tahrpt.
As a suggestion to you and others, using rock-related words, suitably Trollified, is a good way of doing Troll names. I've used granite, limestone and tarpit in the above list. There are plenty of others - Kahb'nundrm, anyone? ;D

Good, because I already did. *toothy grin* Naharaht is... oh hell, who is he again? Whoever he is, I hope to make him one of the main characters later on; 'Naharaht' sounds like the name of at least a second-tier character. The good thing is, my main characters keep switching off with each other. Kh'naavv's wife Astuk suddenly jumped to the front yesterday. All the deaths help keep things interesting, too.
I should warn you guys, though, that although the novel's premise is a joke, it's not a laugh-a-minute (unless you find bad prose hilarious, which it certainly is). I meant to write like Terry Pratchett (sorta), but it's not working out that way. Very strange, the things that come about during NaNoWriMo.

Oh, and I HAVE to name a character Glurd. That name is too good to pass up.

How about these: Grun'terr, Morindank, Tussk'err, Grendymm. Some comedy names: Doofferr, Piddle, Flumpee. Oh, and there's Ramsen, of course. Good luck with the novel - hope it's coming along well. Cheers!

Ramsen... yeah... I'm liking that. My most immediate need, though, is for a girl's name. None of the names here really fit her. She might be a Ramsen, I suppose. Is that one of those androgynous names like Morgan or Dana or Chris? I've mentioned before that the novel is turning out to be surprisingly not funny - surprising especially because it's built on a joke. (I'm poking fun at that old roleplaying standard: "Your party encounters a band of trolls. Roll for initiative.") But the joke is just incidental. And this morning I hit all new levels of unfunny. Anyone who wants to read it so far can find it posted in two chapters on my Livejournal: A Band of Trolls: Chapter 1www.livejournal.com/users/hai_kah_uhk/625372.htmlA Band of Trolls: Chapter 2 www.livejournal.com/users/hai_kah_uhk/625971.html Grr, I can't seem to create text links here.

Oh god... Mahrundl, you fiend. I can't stop laughing. And yet, even while deep in the throes of amusement, I can't write that badly. For one thing, I can spell. And I know what most of the words I use mean.
Yup, dude, you're the chief! Don't let it go to your head, though. (You'll see why when you read the thing.) However, you make an excellent chief and do your author proud, and probably deserve more karma after what I put you through, and I do enjoy hitting that 'exalt' button, so...

Go ahead and use Glurd. I'm very proud of my name.

I already have, Glurd. Glurd is no troll chieftain - he's only seven years old. *smile* But trollkids need names too! We can watch him grow and speculate on the great things he'll accomplish after NaNoWriMo is over.

There is considerable debate as to whether Jim Theis deliberately wrote "Argon" that badly, or if he was just the worst writer in recorded history. The majority opinion seems to be that it was unintentional, as many others have tried to reach those depths and kept slipping up and putting halfway decent snippets into their attempts.
Also, before I forget, consider yourself *exalted* for doing this and putting us all in it.
