I can't post my cave there - I don't have enough stamps!
(Also, my browser doesn't show the map. Time for a new browser, methinks...)

IE 5.5 I've tried others (yes, including Firefox, before anyone asks ) and they give my doddering old PC more problems than I am willing to put up with. A bright shiny new PC will *hopefully* happen soon, after which I shall aspire to join the ranks of the modern-browser-using trolls...

mahrundl: Check out the new Apples, they can now run both Windows and Mac OSX, the best of both worlds! That way you get a modern OS and a modern browser.

Considering I'm running Windows 98 on this old clunker, I'd be hard pressed to go to a *less* modern browser and OS on a new machine...
I'll keep the Apples in mind, Quog. I did hear about the Windows / OSX capable machines recently, and they sounded fairly impressive.

I do actually have an Apple. A real one, not one of these Johnny-come-lately Mac things... ;D
I was always a big fan of the Apple II series, and I played a 26-hour marathon session of Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord back in my early University days. But something about the early Macs left me totally cold and so I moved PC-wards. So it goes. My IIe now sits on its own desk in the corner of the lounge room.

I love the Mac as well-but I can't seem to fall out of love with the OS 9 system...nothing against OSX, i've just got a Red Hat box that can run just about the same apps. I'll have to upgrade eventually I suppose-but since Icab web browser is still being coded for OS 9 and software standards are still pretty current, i'll fight the change tooth and nail. ;D I never understood why Steve Jobs went from a proprietary, folder-driven OS to a Unix derivation in the first place...and i'll never understand why he went Pentium.I mean, I can change processors on my G3 tower by HAND, its on a card for goshsakes... Oh look, a soapbox, how'd that get there? BTW mahrundl, if you're on a budget, you don't need the latest and greatest tech...you can get a modest PIII on Ebay for $100 or less, pick up a nice Linux distro online for under $5 (I recommend Xandros for absolute beginners, and Red Hat/ Fedora if you're familiar with RPM-both run well on a PII 450 or better and 128+ Ram) and for everyday use, you're golden.Mind you, if you're a PC gamer type, you DO want the latest tech and(ugh) WinXP. Or be a happy Luddite like me-get a good deal on a G3 tower on Ebay, Grab OS 9 and some obsolete games for a few bucks apiece and pretend it's still 1999....
