Mongoose publishing has a fairly busy forum at their site (below). One of the posting categories is entitled "What should Mongoose publish next?" I suggested a new edition of T&T. A small number of other people seemed to think that was a reasonable idea. If you think it is too, register and leave your affirmative comments. Cheers www.mongoosepublishing.com/forum.php

It's probably a long shot that a THIRD company would have a hand in a new edition of T&T but it's worth a try...

Sort of strange to suggest a new edition of T&T when (1) 5.5E isn't that old at all, and (2) two versions of 7E both exist in the tin box and are both quite new.
I saw on a message board somewhere a comment that T&T was one of the most stable RPGs on the market, what with 5E existing essentially unchanged for about 15-20 years. Now everyone seems to want to tinker with the game and create new editions?
Hmmmm.

I agree 5e is great. 5.5e is a reissue with some add-ons. 7e seems to be a collection of house rules rather than a new edition.
If someone, anyone, published a nice new edition of T&T, proof-read and play-tested in a book format, I'd buy it immediatly.

My 2 cp, and a warning - this gets a bit evangelical in places... 5.5 edition: Yes, it is still essentially 5th edition; the extra material is nice, but extremely optional. Either way, 5th edition is the classic, the edition against which all other editions are measured. It isn't perfect, but it is a great game in so very many ways. As for 7th edition: Vin, I can't agree that there are 2 versions of 7th edition. With the greatest respect to the Fiery Dragon guys, what they gave us isn't T&T. It may be a good system in its own right - I haven't actually played it, so I can't be certain how well it works - but T&T it ain't. Hoggy, I'm obviously in one of those moods, coz I'm going to disagree with you too. I think that 7th edition is very much a new edition of T&T, but with an altered flavour. There are some substantial changes (magic resistance, talents and levels spring to mind immediately) which make it a somewhat different game, but at the core, it's still got the T&T 'feel'. I agree that more proof-reading and lots more play-testing would have been desirable, but at least for the play-testing there wasn't time. Ken had a deadline to meet, and the bulk of the testing had to be omitted. If we'd had another 6 - 12 months to work out the bugs, we would have used them. I'd like to see 7th edition revised, with refinements to the parts that have turned out to be broken. I'd also like to see a larger format book (although the 7th edition box is nice). I don't expect either to happen any time soon - unless I have a very large lottery win, in which case I'll fund it myself ;D - since Ken has indicated that he has other T&T stuff he wants to do next. I think our job now is to keep finding the bugs in 7th edition, discussing them and coming up with ways to fix them. That way, when it is time for 7th edition revised, or 8th edition, or whatever, a lot of the work has been done and more time can go into layout, proof-reading and the like. By 'our', I mean the denizens of the Trollbridge, Trollhalla, the T&T wiki site, and all of the other sites, groups and individuals around the world. It's the game we choose to play - it's our job to make it the best that we can. Or more accurately, to tell Ken what we want the game to be like. Ultimately, it's his baby, and he gets to create any future versions. But we need to tell him what we like, what we don't like, and how we think things should be changed, so that his vision and ours can mesh to take T&T to ever-greater heights. Of course, this is all entirely my opinion, and is therefore probably a load of rubbish...

Not rubbish at all Mahrundl - pretty much what I'm coming to feel.
Me and the people I play with gave v.7 a go but what's actually happened is that we've revised the rules and now the "house rules" bear an uncanny resemblance to v.5! Maybe it's just what we're familiar with but I don't think it's just that - v.5 really does seem to play with less problems on the magic front. I even think we'll be going back to the v.5 spell lists.
The one thing from v.7 that we kept was talents as they are good for helping differentiate a character and can make a SR a bit more exciting so long as the GM remembers who's got what talent then those talents will be called for every now and then. Talents can be anything but we've been using attributes from GURPs lite to speed things up.

I like Talents too. Not sure why they increase so quickly though. Anyone else got an opion on this?

What Mongoose has done with RuneQuest and Traveller rather makes me hope it doesn't get its paws on another classic.

Is Fiery Dragon still going to do '7.5'?

I sent Ken a note about suggestions for 7.5 just a few days ago and he didn't say otherwise so a revised 7th ed is coming.

They'd probably be better off trying to do a new edition of Mercenaries, Spies and Private Eyes: for the reasons given already, as well as the fact that MSPE hasn't had a new edition, and that 'pulp' seems to have become a bit more popular lately.

I think a new Edition of MS&PE is JUST what the Troll ordered! Paging Mike Stackpole, Mike Stackpole to the white Courtesy Phone(Lvl 1 SR or 2D6 Damage Trap!) please...
As far as a new Edition of T&T-I counterpropose a new PRINTING of T&T, most likely(despite my growing 4th Ed. preferences) the rock-solid V5.5 with perhaps a bit of extra art.

6th Edition is my favorite T&T and the one that will be played by my group and I for many years. More playable than 5th edition and cleaner than 7th.
