for those members "in the know", can we expect anything coming out of FBI for T&T? Does the Trollgod have any plans to put something out? (Trollhalla member can tell him Skathros said Trollworld stuff would be nice ).

Skathros,
There is supposed to be a Trollworld worldbook and a Big Book o' Magic happening at some point, but that's about as definite as has been announced in Trollhalla (to my recollection).

While I can't speak for the Trollgod, my impression is that there won't be anything official coming out soon. I think that Ken is pretty busy, and the Trollworld book is likely to require a fair amount of work. I'll see if I can get an answer on the possible timeframe for any publications he has in mind. If you want cool stuff for T&T, you might look at "that guy" the Hobbit's "that company" site. He seems to have more new stuff added all of the time! Oops. Forgot the link. Here we go... www.geocities.com/hobbit_lands/index.htmlFBI seems pretty slow in creating new material, but "that guy" be fast!

Ken's response was that the two books mentioned should have been done this year, but enthusiasm waned after the draft version went missing. No estimate on when they may now come out.

Not to be blunt (I'm not one to sugar coat every word), but shouldn't the fact that there are people (outside Trollhalla) clamoring for T&T goodness, not put a little enthusiasm into the whole thing? What i mean is, T&T is a great product, and for many, an old school and currently viable system that many of us wish to see grow out of the cult status label. I mean, judging by the enthusiasm i got for my "call for players" to my T&T game, and the positive comments on RPG.net toward T&T, and the fans here at the 'Bridge...isn't that enough enthusiastic fuel to keep the ball rolling? Guess I'm just being crabby...but we can attribute it to love of a fine game

Perhaps, but I know how hard it can be to re-do something, compared to doing it the first time. And I don't know what else Ken has going on in his life, but he still works full-time and I'm sure has other things that occupy his time. I'm not saying that we shouldn't keep encouraging him - e-mail him (address is here: www.siteboosting.co.uk/gristlegrim/contactus.shtml) and tell him how much you want to see new stuff. But we can't automatically assume that he's got the resources to do it even if it is being eagerly awaited by a sizable number of people. On the plus side, there's a lot of great fan-made stuff coming out, so at the very least there is new T&T material!

Oh, don't mind me, mahrundl. I've always been a little to impatient for my own good My fervor should be taken as an endorsement of how great the game is.

A little fervour is a good thing. It counteracts the tendency of some of us to be overly careful...

Well, if "that guy" isn't fast enough have you checked out the site of our own Boozer and his Hobgoblin's Tavern. Good stuff there! web.ukonline.co.uk/angora/

Guess I'm just being crabby...but we can attribute it to love of a fine game Oddly enough, in all my searching for T&T sites the past few days or so, I actually happened across an entry in Ken's blog on Xanga or something. It was dated 2002. Sept. I think. Anyway, in this entry he wrote at great length about how lazy he was. he admitted it and really pushed the point home. He kept saying he was extremely lazy and very cynical on top of that. I like T&T a lot, and Ken seems like a cool enough guy....and goodness knows I'm full of venom a lot of the time, but I'll be honest, after I read that I could only think that it was surprising that he even writes a blog, let alone write a letter/editor's note or whatever in the 5.5 ed. or write what I suppose he writes at the Trollhalla site. Considering the (relatively) small but VERY dedicated fan base, and the clamor for more T&T and the number of websites and third-party adventures and such and also the price and ease of putting together and publishing things these days as opposed to the '70's and '80's.....when ya put it all together you'd think a few things would have already been out. You would think that a 6th ed. would have been published. That there would be official adventures for 7th, etc. That there are not, when all these factors are considered....well, it just leaves me with a feeling that I won't be shocked in the slightest when I look back on my life decades from now and say: "Wow. 7th ed was the last thing ever put out for T&T."

If you haven't visited "that company" lately, then you don't know that they have 10 mini-solos, 10 full-sized solos, a full-sized GM adventure, and two magazines (not just one) devoted to T&T, plus a book of house rules, and more. They are coming out with new material all the time. They might not be "official", but they are supporting the game, which is more than either FD or FBI are doing.
