This is an idea inspired by an old Gamma World 1e article (which included a flow-chart for figuring out how to figure out how to use "ancient" artifacts) and Sword for Hire (where rolling a die to determine which decision you take was suggested after you've exhausted all the options in the solitaire).
You begin an adventure with a certain number of points. You can use IQ or LK or the average of IQ and LK (depends on you).
Instead of deciding, you roll a die to determine which choice to make when you have a choice. However, if you choose, you can expend a certain number of points (which you do not gain back), to change the die's value by that number of points, i.e. you are faced with three choices and you decide that 1-2 on 1d6 will be the first choice, 3-4 will be the second choice, 5-6 will be the third. You roll a 1. This is well and dandy but you know from playing this solitaire several times that this choice leads to certain death and the second choice is not too appealing either. You want the third choice! So, you expend four (4) points to change that 1 to a 5.
Once you run out of points, you can't change your die rolls.

Interesting idea, Castiglione! Have you tested it out yet, and if so, does it work?

I haven't tested it out, yet.
The idea was to allow for replayability while still allowing for some decision making on the part of the player (when to spend those points to avoid "bad" choices).
I'll be giving it a go with some goodies but oldies, i.e. Buffalo Castle, etc.

Let us know how it goes. It's definitely got some potential.

I like this idea. I think I'll try it myself. Each random choice will be met with a decision. Is it worth spending points to change the result?

You could play it 2-player, with one player playing 'Death'. Actually an interesting idea for a game...

I'll need a little better explaination for a player playing 'Death'. My 2 player solos are teaching primers for new gamers. I play the GM and the other plays the character.
How do you see someone playing 'Death'?
