Welcome, fellow Trolls. This message board is designed to allow free discussion of all things Tunnels & Trolls.
T&T is a fantasy RPG written by Ken St. Andre.. It is the second oldest RPG ever, being designed in 1975. It is designed to be a simple and flexible game, and allows for a GM to customize his or her own world with ease.
At this point, the categories for discussion are in flux. I created some off of the top of my head, but my categories may or may not be what we need in the long run. At this point, I tried to divide the boards into "Player" stuff and "GM" stuff, with sub-categories that are more specific as needed.
Suggestions are welcome. Again, welcome to the TrollBridge!

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if posting this in the forum is relevant since it's about getting *into* the forum, but i think i know why i couldn't get in the first time, and had to have my account deleted and try again.
First time i clicked the link in the New Account email, then tried to log in. The second time i logged in, then entered the activation key.
Well, your instructions on the board are right, it's just that if you happen to see the email first it says "You can activate your account at the following location:" and gives the link. So it was a little misleading. I'll repost this at the Walla-rama.

I had that same problem. Eventually I just tried to log in with the password I originally requested. If I hadn't bothered to read the email, it would have gone so much smoother! :-P
ProBoards was also pretty crabby about my username. Despite the fact that I followed their rules (there are only two), it refused several names before finally--and I fully believe randomly--accepting one. I think somewhere someone is giggling uncontrollably as they watch all this.
P.S. Vin, I know the email is some sort of automated dealie that ProBoards dreamt up, and same for usernames. I don't mean to imply you're at fault in any way!

Trollette? Trollette?! I should smite thee for that! And in these days of paranoid political correctness, no less. Oh, wait.... Uh, me accept nice girl-name from friendly troll. Bash Boozer on head with club while blushing.

Boozer, your trollette-in-the-making Amy Rose is a cutie. Does she get to hang out with the group when y'all game? Gotta start the brainwashing early. Oh, but you know that already; I saw the pic with Amy Rose holding the T&T manual when she was so young she could barely even sit up!

Thanks Ahnn Uuh! She is a cutie, but also a little horror when she wants to be! With her attitude she is bound to be a GM when she's older! If we ever play, she's up in bed by the time we start. It won't be long though before she will realise that there's something fun going on downstairs and want to come down to see what is going on!

Ah, yes. I can see it all now (having lived through this whole thing myself). First, she will be drawn to the dice like a moth to a flame. She will want to own her own set of dice (or many) in her own dice bag. Then, she will want to roll the dice with the adults. Sometimes just at random, sometimes roll for one of the adults to get a GM determined result. Last, she will want to actually play in the games. Her attention span will be small at first and she will be half paying attention and half doing cartwheels in the living room, but she will be hooked on the game. It's a wonderful progression.

Or you can let her play the role of the crazed black hobbit lost in the woods looking for something to munch on.. heheh..

Hey, what is a "black hobbit" anyway? I think I saw something like this in the rulebook but no explanation. Are they just like regular hobbits, only evil?

That's a fine question Keltset, I've always wondered that! Maybe Khenn should run a mini-competition at Trollhalla for the best description/picture (for the artists amongst us!) of a 'Black Hobbit'?

I prefer to refer to them as 'Hobbits of Colour' Keltset, I think you're exactly right: they are evil versions of normal hobbits, like Lotho Sackville-Baggins from "Lord of the Rings" or worse.

I thought hobbits were supposed to be amoral. (I don't mean that in the traditional sense of lacking moral fibre, but more in the way apolitical means indifferent or oblivious to politics.) So, is there a "good" hobbit as well as an "evil" one?

I'd say uninvolved rather than amoral. Amoral has too many connotations of 'having no morals' to me. They pay little attention to anyone's business but their own, but I think that the hobbits of the Shire were much more what most of us would consider 'good' rather than 'evil'. They are by-and-large generous, slow to anger and easy-going, and community minded. No hobbit had ever killed another on purpose, at the time of the Scouring of the Shire, and they treated visitors courteously if with initial wariness. And look at Gollum (who is very much like a hobbit in many ways) - even after being corrupted by the One Ring for hundreds of years, he almost repents of his evil ways when he sees Frodo sleeping with his head in Sam's lap in "The Two Towers".
Apologies, I'm somewhat of a Tolkien geek. Anyway, that's a part of why I think hobbits tend to be 'good' by default, and why 'black hobbits' are somewhat the exception.
