I like how Talents work precisely because of the arguments about skills. Talents are a quick shorthand to describe my character's background and interests. My L3 warrior Roy Hawk has Markmanship (DEX), Mechanisms (DEX), and just added Toxology (IQ). He grew up the third son of the local duke's gameskeeper and joined the delver's lifestyle securing dangerous magical artifacts from raving hordes of civilization hating beings. He picked up Toxology after his latest adventure in a spider invested ruin of a dungeon. Sadly, his L8 friend has 8 Talents which is starting to become burdensome. BTW, my character stories tend to go on for pages when I chronicle their adventures... Still the entire story fits on a 1x1/2 jump drive ;D
T&T is flexible and when used all Type abilities, Skills, Talents, whatever should alway add to the lowest common denominator, the basic Saving Roll. I am always frustrated by GURPS imposing penalties on my characters for not knowing the right skill. I end up knowing dozens of 1/4 point skills just to cover my delving needs (With DEX 12 a DEX-2 is better than a DEX-4 every time).
At risk of changing the subject to another problematic 3x5 challenge...
Has anyone ever been frustrated by having a Wizard with 20+ spells? I got to the point of buying all spells just so I could keep the maintenance down to "Spells: All Level 1-3". I am always looking for a new spell system to simplify my Wizard's write-up. That way I can keep the basic character to a 3x5.

I make 3x5 cards for all games I play... I made a 3x5 one for T&T using the 7th ed sheet. Not sure if it's OK to post though....

Emryys, you can certainly post at least a link to it on the Trollbridge, if you have it on a website.
To the best of my knowledge, you can't post attachments here. But if it's not too large, you should be able to post it as an inline image. Although that may require it to be online anyway, so the link is the better option.
You can tell that I haven't tried this, can't you?

Alright then, here's two!... I can't take any credit for design, I simply made them fit onto cards... enjoy!

Nice, Emryys!
I'm Exalting you for providing them, even if they are not your work.

At the risk of sounding stupid (I do it all the time, so not sure why I'm worried about it now), how do you print those out? Do general consumer-line printers allow printing to 3x5 cards?

I know mine does and it's just a basic Samsung... Since they are pics, open them in PS or something similar to print... I can also convert them to PDF if necessary.

As long as your printer has a manual feed (or a size-adjustable paper holder), it can probably manage. I have a 10 year old inkjet, and while it won't explicitly do 3 x 5, it will do 8 x 5. So I imagine that I could set the images so that they only take up the top 3 inches of an 8 x 5 page, and print them that way. (I could also check whether my drivers are up to date - there may be something more recent that will allow direct 3 x 5 printing.)

I'm pretty sure that the Photo-style printers (made to print Portrait-quaity on Photo paper) would do the job just fine.
As far as standard Inkjet or my trusty flea-market Laser printer, i'd probably work several of the images into a standard A4 page and then cut them-no wasted paper that way.

That would probably work for me. I already have some 110lb. cardstock I could print to, and I'm sure I could whip up something appropriate in Paint Shop Pro. I'll have to try that tonight.

Success! I got 4 of the first style (based on the 7th ed. PDF sheet) on one page easily, and then printed on card stock. It even has the same general thickness as the index cards I used to use.
So, anyone else got any more brilliant ideas to share?
