Haburat completes his preparations, and two of his henchmen join you, dwarves both of them. You leave the Squib and walk south through the quiet streets of the town. Haburat says that you spent longer 'on the other side' than normal. You felt the passing of little more than an hour - but now the sun is on its way to setting. This disturbs him.
Through the south gate, you come to the market-fair.
Many vendors and merchants are set up south of town that have come from some distance. There are swords and mail shirts crafted of Viru Ore (a high quality iron from the west), potioneers of the Nargan Swamps hawking draughts of healing, of health - antidotes for poisons and diseases. The woodsman traders sell bows and shields. Weavers and tailors cater to the vain interests of young women and warriors who seek to advertise their allegiance with standards and sigils. There are several merchants from the east who offer strange goods of dubious worth to any but eccentric wizards. Blown glass, spurs, tables and chairs - you could probably find most any good you desired to find here.
Farther south, near the lake shore is a standing stone where Wizards Duels are conducted, and near to that a field has been set aside for a general melee which will takes place late in the day. Beside this field of battle, several Lords of the Western Hills have encamped with large tents, and erected a platform from which they will judge the melee. Currently the platform is unoccupied - the day's melee is ended. The fields west of town are lit with many small campfires.
Haburat leads you to a covered wagon, where a couple of hobbits lounge. They look guardedly at Thurgood, but are quickly distracted by Haburat's coin. He purchases 4 healing draughts from them, and gives one to each to you.

Thurgood accepts the offered draught.
With care he removes the stopper and inhales the aroma, "Hmm, when old Skods made healing potions they always smelled like.....um, well not this good"
With no further ado Thurgood knocks back the elixir and awaits it's effects.
OOC: Nice to be playing again Ragnorakk, have a welcome back exalt!

Bjorn uncorks his own potion then watches Thurgood gulp his down. Shrugging he lifts his own in salute to the hobbits and Harburat and says the traditional toast of his clan, "Here's mud in your eye."
Bjorn chugs his potion then waits to either collapse on the ground in agony or to be magically healed.

Ponto thanks his employer, then stores the healing potion with his other two.

(ooc: sorry - no need for healing potion suspense - each heals 2d6 CON)
"I thank you again friends - you have done a great service for me. I must leave to make arrangements with the Mage of Furess - but I will be maintaining my room at the Squib all this week. If you have interest in travel and no other plans at that time, you may consider accompanying me to Galton, north of the Cold Lake."
(if you have conversation or immediate questions for Haburat, now would be the time to speak your minds, as he is getting ready to go his own way.)

OOC: I'm not entirely sure how many CON points I lost...I'll go back through the posts to check unless you have a written record Ragnorakk. Anyway, the potion heals 9 CON and I'm not sure I lost that many.
The potion warms Bjorn's body and he watches as all the gashes, cuts, and scrapes magically heal.
"Thank you kind sirs," he says to the hobbits, "and to you Haburat for your generosity. For now I think my colleagues and I will return to the Squibb after we procure some new equipment. I myself would like to visit the local armorer and weaponsmith. I think some more armor would suit you as well Thurgood."
OOC: Of course we still need to divide up the loot but I thought we could avoid mentioning that in front of Harburat. Bad manners. Although he may know what the significance of the statue.

OOC: Strangely I heal 9 points as well, maybe all the potions heal that exactly! As the soothing power of the potion rushes through him Thurgood straightens and the hideous mass of scars that make up his face relaxes into a slightly less terrible configuration. "Yes friend Bjorn let us adjourn to the Squib for refreshments before we spend our gold" OOC: How many STR have I recovered by this time? If I am still pretty weak I'll meditate once we get to the squib until I am at full STR. Once I am at full STR, I'll cast a 10 point "Detect Magic" on the statue.

That would heal Bjorn fully - Thurgood, your CON is 11/16 - and your last STR point has returned.

OOC: We may want to stop by the Pawnshop/Gemcutter (building #20) to sell the necklace we acquired before going to the Squibb.

(ooc - sorry - was trying to give everyone a chance for input)
Haburat leaves with his two dwarven guards, going south to the lakeside.
On your way to the Squib, you can see from the central common that the gemcutter is sitting at a small table on the porch with two other individuals, one of them a servant.
Are you going there now?

OOC: Aieee, I hadn't realized things were happening again. Sorry! Koblenz fishes in his pack and produces the snake-statue. "We still need to see what magics are on this item. If none, it might be worth selling as well."

"Let's see how much we can get for the necklace now. We can decide on the ring and statue once we determine what magic they hold back at the Squibb."

"Yes my friends, I will feel better when we have this all squared away" Thurgood begins to clear a way through the crowd with his glower & Wizards staff. OOC: When an grumpy half-orc wizard wants to make his way through a crowd let him!
