I haven't had a chance to go through the whole thing yet, but I have to give you an exalt. I like the random encounter & found items tables. Especially 5: Ratchet the goblin & 8* the Flea infested Ratling corpse, excellent color and sure to be remembered. The items table is great, lots of little details to captivate the players attention. I also really like the "Bath Frog", I appreciate a good strange/amusing animal monster! ( He says while trying to hide his "Carnivores Fire-Breathing Death Camels" behind his back ) ;D It makes me want to go out grabs some new players and run it, & that is about the nicest thing you can say about an adventure.

Wow TKD, praise indeed (blushing), many thanks.
;D
I always use this one to introduce new players and it generally goes well.

I haven't taken a look at this conversion for DotR, but I just had one of those 'moments'...
With a campaign that revolves around a group of islands...how does that change the dungeon environment? (Now, I'm really not a fan of dungeons, but I'm jus' thinking out loud here...) I mean, think of the extra levels (rimshot) of danger. First, even a dungeon underneath the land of a larger island would be even more damp. The footing more precarious due to more mold and algae. Water may have made it's own 'inroads' to portions of underground caves and be dangerously close to otherwise solid walls, or could have filled an area as though it were an underground lake where the adventures map says should be a (relatively) dry passage. Caverns that connect island to island underneath the waves.
Think of a megadungeon that's underneath the the ocean's floor. Yikes.

Interesting, that makes me think of underwater-spelunking. A hobby so dangerous it claimed eight lives in about four years around the area I grew up ( and two of those were professional rescue divers sent down to retrieve the bodies ). Maybe that could be used to provide some tension, like having the adventurers make their way through a series of underwater caves to reach their goal. Who needs traps when you have the tender mercies of "Mother Nature" to protect your treasure! P.S. Seriously do not go Underwater-Spelunking, there are safer hobbies out there, like barehanded tiger shark fondling or bungie-less jumping.

One of my adventure sites is a deserted (yeah, right) underwater city trapped in an air bubble. To get in you just have to pop through the wall of the bubble, which is why the streets are littered with dead fish.
Dungeon of the Rat does have a fair bit of water in it already including the trash shoot that runs to the water table, water running down the walls (Room of the False God) and of course, frogs. ;D
The adventure I'm working on at the moment is the type I'd always planned for Dark Isles, an island hopper; only 3 initially. The characters are hired on Spindlerift (by a wizard fleeing the magic purges of Kimbultahn) with the instruction to charter a ship to the isle of Bandun (Ban-doon) which is off the sea lanes. They need to book passage to The Gables, find Vin and convince him to take them to Bandun. There they must complete their mission and bring back a sprig of berries from a bush that grows only on Bandun to prove they have been there.
They attract the attention of a feisty pickpocket in Spindlerift, have to solve a murder in The Gables to gain the trust of 'the gabes' so that they can find Vin - dodge pirates on the way to Bandun then complete the mission on the island (which on the face of it, is as simple as burying the box the wizard gives them)...
Of course, the characters will be unaware that rather than striking a blow against the despotic Pashtun of Pashtun, they are actually doing his bidding. Life's a pregnant dog.
Oldemar: “Friends, I am new to the Dark Isles and sense that some or all of you are too; new at least to Spindlerift. I have a simple task for a small band of unaligned sell-swords such as yourselves. I require a small box of some sentimental value to be buried on a nearby isle. You would need to charter a boat since the destination is not on the common trade routes. Yes, there may be danger but I offer a down payment of 200 ducats to fund the mission and 200 each upon its completion. What say you?”

'Life's a pregnant dog.' Sometimes I love the parental settings on this forum!

Think of a megadungeon that's underneath the the ocean's floor. Yikes. And let's not forget that islands like these could be volcanic in origin, which in turn leads to dangerous gasses caught in underground pockets, tunnel surfaces as slick as glass and the always fun, "Um, guys... why is there a red glow up ahead?"
