Background: Charles has never been well liked. His mood is generally dark and he tends to speak of bleak subjects. While not entirely physically unattractive his attitude sends most people in the opposite direction. Charles found himself at a local tavern one evening conversing with a couple of travelers. He eventually, and likely intentionally, insulted both of them five or six times leading to a brawl. When the tavern finally quieted down the two travelers were dead and Charles was covered in their blood. Unfortunate for Charles one of the men turned out to be the son of a wealthy merchant with ties to the royal family. Not surprisingly Charles found himself on the next prison ship bound for the Wildlands.

Unlike some of his companions, Poncho was persuaded to pay good money for his voyage to the New World. He has a vague notion that he might have been overcharged but otherwise is greatly enjoying the whole adventure. If only he could find a little money for some food, life here would be perfect.

The apprentice of a dissenting necromancer Drugan was seized off the street and deported to threaten his master. Scruffy, Drugan resembles a thug more than a wizards apprentice and the long voyage has left him resentful for the unfair treatment.
His nose has obviously been broken more than once and he has heavy lowering brows and an unruly mop of dark hair going prematurely grey at the temples. He has a thick matted beard hanging to his chest. He favors a large floppy green wide-brimmed hat and has unusually long lower canines.
*Has lost his left foot and has replaced it with a wooden prosthetic and a staff/crutch.

A miserable Hegg, shaking his fist at the stinking galley for a moment, while a few of the other Heggses shuffle off silently. Rotten luck - the community disbanded, whose practices would not be allowed in the Old World, the circle broken.
But here, no Monarch to pass judgement - Varklud grins and re-inflates.
Looking about for familiar faces, he espies Quinlan, Charles, Drugan, Poncho, (and others). Invoking the generous Felbi, Varklud performs Heggs Ritual of Propitious Accidents. The general offensiveness of the ritual to the casual onlooker is enough to tell that this Hegg may need help protecting himself.
Nevertheless - he shows off his bow & arrows, and makes little zapping gestures with his fingers *PLOK*, *PLOK* - emphasizing his utility, or aspirations thereof.
He holds up his left hand, and points to a copper ring with his branded right hand. "It's the ring. Without it - nothing! I vanish!"

Background: Mahara-la left civilized society by force, but her pride suffered a greater defeat. Now cowering at shadows, Al'Mahara takes some solice in her rudimenary knowledge of the arcane. She is loathe to shed blood, fearful of some further punisher stepping forth to exact strict discipline...again. Wearing repentance sackcloths, Mahara-la avoided cruelty only by posing as less of a threat than the diseases a filty elf may carry. However, some strange magicks abound when she pactices her defensive craft, even through the caked-on mud encrusting her face and arms.
This is my first attempt at a T&T character. While the party has plenty of spellcasters, Mahara-la offers spellcasting as an afterthough, or at least as a defensive measure foremost. Thoughts and feedback ar welcome, all!
