Just so long as it gives the basic differences between 1st & 5th, thats all we really need.

The first draft of The Players Handbook for the Wild Lands Campaign is now available for download from my T&T page: www.mattiaswikstrom.net/rpg/tnt.htmlPlease report any oddities you find or ask if there is something that you do not understand. The spell list is incomplete at the moment and only goes to level 5. Everyone who still wants to play may begin rolling up their characters (remember to join the dice log first), but it will be at least a couple of days yet before I've got the game world in order and we can begin the game. Mahrundl or Vin, could you please open a sub-forum for the game and perhaps move this thread there (if possible)?

Burke, the PHB is fantastic. The intro is extremely atmospheric, the Vancian spell-names are perfect truly evocative... I'm ready to roll my character but when I follow the link in the rules, I'm told no dice log is available.
Outstanding work my friend. Spooky that two of the city names mentioned are in my home of Western Australia. ;D

Coming from an accomplished writer like you, that's a real compliment. I'm ready to roll my character but when I follow the link in the rules, I'm told no dice log is available. I've now added your email address to the log (Ragnorakk's too), try to log in again and you should get a link for the log. Sorry for being such a slouch. Outstanding work my friend. Spooky that two of the city names mentioned are in my home of Western Australia. ;D I actually picked the names from a list of Australian town names. The Wild Lands is after all a bit like Australia... On drugs! www.landgate.wa.gov.au/corporate.nsf/web/History+of+country+town+names

Yeah - the handbook is is well done! Started rolling at hamete. I had a questions. About wizards. At the end of the Adds section it says that Magic Users ONLY count the negative adds. Does this mean that Warriors DONT count them OR that wizards cannot have more adds than 0?
Cheers!

I had a couple of questions. About wizards. Does this version use No Strength for Adds? Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean does strength count for adds, the answer is yes. Here is the relevant part from the PHB p. 6: Calculate the characters Personal Adds. For every point over 12, in ST, LK and DEX add one point and for every point below 9, subtract one point. For missile weapons, count DEX twice. Personal adds can be either positive or negative for Warriors. Magic-Users only count negative adds.Note that last sentence, magic-users only get negative adds if any. Also, can language selection for IQ > 12 be deferred to in-game? Absolutely. Known Languages. All PC's know the Common Tongue. For every point of IQ over 12, an extra language may be learned during the game.

Scary! I'm gonna give the Magic-User a try anyhow... It is. But I like the idea that there is a bigger difference between magic-users and warriors. But we'll just have to wait and see how it works in actuality. I'd like a big party for this game, so far 4 people have said that they are in (if I counted correctly), anyone else want to play in the Wild Lands? PS: By the way. I live in Finland and it is about midnight here now, so I will have catch some sleep. I'll be back in about 8 hours, just in case anyone wonders why I'm not adding them to the dice log or answering questions.

I've never seen a pelgrane in Mandurah but there are large numbers of pelicans. They're pretty scary when you're eating fish 'n' chips on the beach and they want to join in...

Re: the mistakes in the OCRing of the reprint of 1st ed. I'm sure if someone sends "that guy" an email with the errors, he'd likely update the file and reupload to Lulu. It would be easy and quick for him to do, so I don't see why he wouldn't, so that future purchasers wouldn't encounter the same error.

I've already paid for the d**n thing.
