I got this through the TrollMail from the TrollGod himself, Ken St Andre. (Edited somewhat) My vote was for TrollsZine. I think getting something like this in TrollsZine would really be a great thing and make us even more official and legit. Just thought I'd pass along the fact that Ken is thinking about us.

I'd love to read more chronology of Trollworld and think TrollsZine would be a great place for it even as a feature spanning more than one issue
nice to know he's working on chaotic 8th too

I think TrollsZine would a nice way to put it out in serial. But I also think in the end it should be gathered into a PDF and perhaps offered through RPGnow for a few bucks to insure that a certain someone is not able to continue to offer the only complete History of Trollworld booklet. I think we touched on this in another thread but the logic bears repeating. We should insure that the products that Ken had previously put out via a 3rd party are available via another method for free or pay.

Absolutely. I'd rather see it in TrollsZine than in the rule book.
Well, ok, I'd just plain rather not see it in the rule book regardless.

Personally, I think 5.5e with some truely optional rule supplements available is what we as a community should be pursueing.............. Also, Trollworld in the mag= good.

Just thought I'd pass along the fact that Ken is thinking about us. Glad to hear that Ken finds the TrollsZine to be worthy of such an endeavor. As a gamer and purchaser, I'd like to have the game as complete as possible. So, if that means adding the Chronology into the 8th ed. then so be it. As a member of the community, I'd love to see the information printed in the TrollsZine. As far as the Chaotic 8th Ed. goes, it sounds, at least in part, to be a way of reasserting the copyright/trademark and distance the name from recent, unpalatable associations.

From my understanding, 8th isn't intenteded to change rules, except to clarify issues left open in previous editions, but rather to introduce another "age" into the T&T realm - one where magic was less defined and various other forces influenced the lives of those that lived on Trollworld.
I (and others) voiced objects to Khenn when he first brought up this idea last fall. I think he heard us, but the story-teller in him wants to go forward with the idea. We'll see what comes of it...

Sligo, after just about everyone on Trollhalla begged Ken not to do yet another version of the rules he decided to make a supplement but of late he's been referring to it as the 8th edition so I guess he's back on the track of a whole new edition again.

Not everyone, nor even "just about everyone"... tho a majority, for sure. A majority not including me.

I think (IMHO) that efforts would be better spent "pushing" 7E (if 7E is Ken's vision of T&T's future), as oipposed to yet another edition. I would whole-heartedly get behing 7E regardless of the fact I dislike the physical format it comes in, dispite the fact that some of the rules rub me the wrong way (lvl advancement, Kremm resistance), and I would do so simply because it would mean T&T was moving forward, supporting 1 edition. Until there's a concentrated effort to move T&T in 1 direction, it'll simply be a fractured game going in 20 different directions without any direction going very far.
7E (7.5) is Ken's vision of T&T's future? Well then, let's move onwards from there. I'll even throw my support behind it any way I can. The last thing we really need is an 8th edition (chaotic or not). Trollworld stuff? Deffinatly!!! A new edition? No thanks. I'd rather see suplemental stuff for 7E (if 7E is being pushed), or 5E (if 5E is being pushed).

Afraid I have to agree with you Skathros, pretty much on everything you said in the previous post.

It's not Kens call here guys, FD has the rights to publish the next version and this is how this game is played. Ken either fronts with v8 or they get someone else to write it.

Thanks for recovering this Prof. Have an exalt.
Quog makes a good point. Ken is right to want to retain the right to create his rules. I am sure there will be items of interest in it for the T&T fan
