Depardieu isn't a bad actor in English A number of people I know would disagree strongly with that statement. Personally, I don't rate him as more than average, but I haven't seen that much of his work. I haven't seen anything he's done in French, so I can't comment on that aspect.

Living in Detroit, and it being Devil's Night and all, I just watched "The Crow".
I must say; in terms of cinematic, music-video-esque style-over-substance, that entire movie ranks as a collection of superb fight scenes.

I caught the last half of "The Untouchables" a few days ago. I love the shootout in the train station with the baby carraige plunging down the steps. Its in slow motion, and actually feels like a game combat.............

Seven Samurai. Pretty much the whole movie, but standouts are the rescue sequence and the duel in the opening section of the movie, and the whole final battle. If you haven't watched it, do so. Amazing. And if you like that try Yojimbo, Ran and Kagemusha by the same director. And Throne of Blood - especially the arrow sequence www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT3AiGXTTAM

Yeah, you've got to love "Seven Samurai".
That movie also spawned my favorite Toshiro Mifune "I can't kill a lot with only one sword". ;D
The arrow storm at the end of "Throne of Blood" is unforgettable.

The bar fight and subsequent chase in Willow. I don't know, that fight (and the entire movie) was just plain old stupid fun. A great fit for T&T (IMHO). I mean really...the amount of crazy SR in that movie is staggering. Was it the best fight? No. But one of the most enjoyable (to me). Yes...i liked Willow. There! I said it!
