(H/T stefanj for the link) www.gofundme.com/f/jennell-jaquays-has-a-long-road-backHer work is foundational in the industry (theory, product...) but what's especially relevant to us trolls is that she was responsible for maintaining the quality of a lot of what at least I think of as the era just post the golden age of Blade. Check out the credits on the latter Citybooks to start. And who here (at least above a certain age) hasn't played a Quake or...? I'm going to throw up an image of a product I read, reread and reread back in the day, learning just what a GM product could be. Incredible talent and evidence that doesn't preclude one being a good person too.

The very first time I heard of / read about Dungeons & Dragons (and therefore RPGs in general) was an advertisement in the 1976 Metagaming Concepts catalog. The page had a half dozen or so little B&W line art spot illustrations. A hobbit, various monsters. Combined with the descriptions, I was intrigued! The illos were by Jaquays . . . I later learned that they were her FIRST ever art sales, taken in the form of company credit so she could get double payments in the form of merchandise from the catalog.
