If you have a favorite character but cant draw try the link to Hero Machine. Hero Machine is fun to play with, esp. version 2 with it's expanded options. I believe they even have a few genre specific character generators now. For those that would like to try a more whimsical approach to character portraits try the Gaia Dream Avatar creator: www.tektek.org/dream/

Ha ha! I used the Gaia avatar creator years ago to make a little version of me. ;D Yes. Yes, that's exactly what I look like. -lol- (except it's missing the goatee)

Has anyone tried the FACES 4.0 Demo for character portraits? I requested a copy of the demo a few years ago and found it to be a great idea. It's essentially the software that you see the police sketch artists using on your favorite crime-drama. The demo is, as expected, pretty limited but I had always wondered if the RPG world would grab this idea and build on it. Here's an example of a character I created for a 7th Seas game: Nikolo Coratzi

I think that Heromachine is great! I have just used it to create a Naharaht picture.
