Having played T and T for a while now I am looking for a sci fi game. I used to play Traveller but want something a bit more like t and t. I see that starfaring is now available abd drive thru rpg but it seems that it is more ship based with a player controlling ship and crew rather than an individual character. Can this be adapted so that players can play individual characters?

There's a review of it here.

"that guy" has posted "New Khazan" as being available from "that company". This promises to be a sort of T&T in space SF RPG. I am not sure if it is like GammaTrollworld with thefamiliar T&T races or not.
"NEW KHAZAN (T&T Rules): Within this 60+ page, 6-by-9 sized, spiral bound, new rules supplement book you will now have the chance to play (and GM) in a true sci-fi setting using the Tunnels & Trolls rules. It has been written in a way to be easily compatible with all editions of T&T. The New Khazan Supplement doesn’t just leave the GM with nothing to start with. Included in the rules supplement you will find a Solo and a GM Adventure to help you jump start your very own T&T sci-fi campaign (on any number of planets). A new character sheet for New Khazan is provided on the last page. Now you can have the true sci-fi game experience you always wanted without having to learn any complicated rules." "

It should be possible to do a science-fiction version of Tunnels & Trolls, or maybe of Mercenaries, Spies and Private Eyes.
What kind of science-fiction where you thinking of? A Star Trek game would probably be quite different to a Star Wars one for example.

I'm toying with a Star Frontiers conversion (to T&T); Old School meets Primary School. ;D

New Khazan was originally in Dungeoneer's Digest #28. It was quite good, actually. I take it it must be expanded now. IIRC, it covered about 6 or 8 pages in the issue of DD.

Mach the new 'New Khazan' bears little resemblance to the version appearing in Dungeoneer. Take another look, the author (Tom) has cut and paste has work from TAG Spacers with little change. It was my job to edit it - I kind of re-wrote it... Oops.
Tom's not too happy with my mangling of his work (I threw in a few gags he didn't appreciate), mostly changed things to be compatible with 5th edition rather than TAG Spacers and sliced up the background to make it a little more spicy.
On the subject of 'spice' the corner stone of technology in the new NK is the 'web' a little anti-gravity shield that holds ships together in space and protects most folk from fast-moving missiles (but not slow-moving blades) in a Duney kind of way.

Oh, I figured it had to be pretty different to go from around a few pages to sixty! Didn't know you worked on it, though. If Tom didn't like it, then why allow OP to release it?

It was all done and dusted before Tom saw it!
I'm not sure that Tom has read the re-write but "that guy" changed the credits to read 'based on an idea by Tom...' I think that's the bit he didn't like. I would be more than happy to give him the credit. Nobody got paid after all... ;D

Oh. Yeah. I see the stink on Trollhalla now. (went there to see if anyone was talking about the 'stolen art' deal-e-o I mentioned in the recent thread I just started...)

Frankly, changing someones work and not letting that person at least comment upon it before going to print isn't very nice.
