Seems like with the current melt-down, it might be a good time to get some effort directed toward making some resources available (reply #52 in trollbridge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1091&page=4 ). With holidays approaching, I doubt I'll have much time for anything, but getting some groundwork and ideas for content and such isn't a horribly consuming process - if this is something that we could accomplish with transparency and quality, I think it's certainly something worth doing. I don't know how I can sleep at night while TKD's weapon & armor lists remain unupblished! Anyone ever deal with lulu? Anyone like to draw pictures of trolls! Anyone know how to do layout? EDIT: link fixed

Argh! Which thread? Where is the link supposed to point? I don't know what you're talking about and it's driving me mad!

Ah, yes. Ok. Weird that that was the one thing I thought it may be possible that you were referring to. *cheesy 'eerie' music goes here*
But I do agree with you about the weapon list.
I'm sorry... The WEAPON LIST of TKD's.
And the beastiary.
And the proposal of the 100 kinds of Orcs.
Etc.

I'm still working on Retro Role-playing Realms but it will be a release just for us on the 'Bridge. I'm not will to tangle with unhappy IP owners. Plus I'll do my own art! ;D

YAY!
This whole thing has made me want to put ink to paper for the first time in years - is it that hard/prohibitively expensive to get good art? I'm not trying to denigrate professional artists... I'm trying to think of particular things I'd like to see written up - I'll get a list together soon.

"is it that hard/prohibitively expensive to get good art? " Not if you target poor university students majoring in art.

My rates for art to order is US$100.00 for full page colour and $20.00 quarter page black and white. For a single publication print and pdf. I retain rights. For existing art its negotiable.

is it that hard/prohibitively expensive to get good art? Not really. Again, recall that most if not all the art in S&W and S&W:WB and the S&W Monster Book was done free or cheap, by folks who did so for love of the game.

Huh, looks like I neglected my reason for posting. I have some experience with Pages, Mac desktop publishing software.

Huh, looks like I neglected my reason for posting. I have some experience with Pages, Mac desktop publishing software. Ah good! - I've done some primitive (zine) layout with word processors and xerox machines... that's it - and my guess is that Hogscape's mac still lurks behind his new shieldbearer... Used tubes of gouache paint for the first time last night, to try to get a feel for it - pretty neat stuff.

I have been using Pagemaker and Scribus to layout of rules summaries and making zines and character sheets. Pagemaker used to be one of the few reasons I booted Windows. These days I use Scribus.
