I only found out about this the other day. My first reaction on hearing that my friend was going to write a novel in a month was, "That's crazy." Then I couldn't get the idea out of my head ;D . www.nanowrimo.org/Anyhoos, there are lots of creative people here on the Trollbridge so if anyone else fancies writing a novel in November now's your chance! (It's an exercise in quantity over quality). Here's my profile: www.nanowrimo.org/userinfo.php?uid=134775Feel free to add me as a writing buddy if you want to. Oli

Dandelion entered last year. You can see her entry starting here: hai-kah-uhk.livejournal.com/625372.html#cutid1Personally, I know that I'd never get such a thing even half done, and have too many other things to occupy me anyway. Best of luck in your endeavours, though.

Thanks.
I've just done a word count on Dandelion's piece... 3200.
Eeek.
Did she get to 50,000?

That link was just to chapter 1. If you look elsewhere on that site, you should find the rest.
I don't think that she made it to 50,000, but I seem to recall that she passed 30,000.

I'ved signed up for NaNoWriMo this year. I can only hope to write even 30,000 words with everything else that's going on, but I'm just going to see what I can accomplish in a month. I've added you as a writing buddy, oli. My NaNoWriMo profile is at www.nanowrimo.org/userinfo.php?t=1161409086&uid=146122Suggestion: Further discussions about fiction writing should probably be taken to the Fiction and Art forum, to help Vin keep this board organized.

38,000! That was my final word count last year. I continued working on the novel until around January and added maybe 10,000 words, at which point the Khayd'haik character and his new friend Aiydn were about to step into the climax and I lost steam. I seem to hate climaxes pretty reliably. It's a personality flaw, I think. Show me a climax and I flee.
