Has anyone tried it? Is it ever going to be remade?
I suppose you could just use T&T rules and play a monster game, but I'd love to check out the original.

Funnily enough...
Ken and Rick are busy discussing republishing Monsters! Monsters!
Rick wants to do a limited edition print run in time for GenCon and then release a PDF for download.
Happy times ahead... for the Monsters at least ...time for Delver Destruction

I did this little post on my blog about using the Monsters! Monsters! idea for D&D. Ken was nice enough to post it on the walla!

Frankly, I didn't see much of a point for Monsters! Monsters! given that the standard T&T rules gave players the options to play "monster" types. The earlier editions (up to the 4th edition) even gave guidelines for how monster type characters should be awarded EP's. However, with that being said, a lot of games based on the same base system were published by other game companies so I guess I shouldn't object to Monsters! Monsters! too much.

That is some interesting news. Let's hope it bodes well for T&T 5th ed. (or 5.5 at least) as well.

I think Monsters!Monsters! would have the benefit of a different flavour to it. Agreed T&T provides you with the rules you need, M!M! would be monster fluff rather than crunch.
There is a great (IMO) scenario where you play Trolls coming in TZ 3 - Bludgeons and Flagons by Justin Williams aka Toad-Killer-Dog. That has a real M!M! flavour to it.

M!M! also has special powers for monster races, powers not included in 5 nor 7 core rules.

Yes, that is true.
Also, M!M! has some excellent examples of non-standard combat that should have probably been put into the T&T 5e rules; the 5e rules combat examples are depressingly pedestrian and don't really show the shear awesome power of the saving roll system when coupled with the ingeniously mind blowing bucket of dice combat system. How can anyone read the M!M! example of the black hobbit grabbing a handful of ogre stomach hair in one hand, holding on for dear life and getting stabby with the other hand and say that T&T combat is just a bunch of dice rolling?

According to a recent post on his Flying Buffalo Facebook page, Rick will indeed have 50 copies of the newly printed Monsters! Monsters! for GenCon.
He said if he sells out of them, he'll print more, and if not, he'll put the remainder up for sale at the website.
Also...he replied that, yes, he'll soon be offering pdfs!

I'd be interested to see what the reprints are like, in terms of print quality. I wasn't very happy with the way 5.5e came out, particularly the way Liz Danforth's art in Buffalo Castle got absolutely butchered by the resolution they used to scan it. I'd also be interested if this were a straight reprint or whether it incorporates a lot of extra stuff like 5.5e.
