this "campaign" has really brought me an even greater appreciation of the TnT system. I am basically using 5e advancement, classes, and racial traits as written. there is no "kremm" or magic resistance.... but we are using talents from 7.5... some spells from 7.5 and the larger equipment lists and costs from 7.5. Nothing is sacred but Im pretty much using the system as written, with the core being 5.0 cause thats what is etched in my memory, supplemented by 7.5 because it opened up some new ideas and possibilities.
i like the system more each time I play it, and when I looked at my friendsdnD3.5 character sheets the other day, i just thought "dang! how do you keep track of all that stuff.
Two of them played in their first TnT game with me on Monday evening.......

... with the core being 5.0 cause thats what is etched in my memory This is about where I'm at too. I recently started running games with the group I've been playing with for while. The GM up to this point has been ("Sligo" here on the bridge) running 7.5 with a good bit of house rules. They've been fun games but I'm not as familiar with 7.5 as 5th edition. I mean after 25 years I could remember most of the basic elements in the T&T system with out too much difficulty. I decided to stick with 5th ed. because it was like home. I did make a few changes, the biggest being the continued use of 7.5's advancement. I decided that introducing the advancement system from 5th would be counter intuitive for two of the others who are not as familiar with T&T as "Sligo". They have a hard enough time remembering how 7.5's advancement works. I also kept the 7.5 way of handling savings rolls...fail on a three instead of a three or four. I've still not made up my mind on the mix-n-matches yet...It'll only be our third game on Monday. Outstanding! I eagerly await your next post.

While in the archives of the Moribund Center For Arcane Research, jaxxon's good friend Indigo found mention of a legendary blade named Urginsnipe.
Knowing jaxxon was both an adventurer and an afficionado of legendary blades, Indigo informed his friend that the blade was last mentioned in a text written in the dutchy of March Hare. a mere four days ride south. A place called the "pool of vulcan" was also mentioned... but that reference remained unknown.
It had seemed such a grand adventure then. the thrill of having returned from Ur alive had caused Jaxxon to forget the possible consequences. They had talked Muralie into coming with them. Three amigo's........ all with the same 8 lengths of chain tatooed on their wrists!
Vulcans Pool...... this mountain brought them face to face with Wang Chung the vampire. And now Indigo is dead..... boiled alive, and Muralie has stayed behind with the fat, short, toadlike vampire in the black silk kimono.
"the most handsome man i've ever known..... its like we were always meant to be together."
Jaxxon has returned home to Moribund with a terrible infection.... brought on by having been wounded by a mummy, and on top of his sickness he is ashamed, grieving and confused.
He was able to retrieve indigo's body.... and like a true warrior jaxxon brought the body back and had it buried behind father Tilldale's Chapel. the stone is inlaid with gold and bears Indigo's arcane mark
Muralie's words as they parted wounded Jaxxon deeply, for she seemed not to care at all about the fate of Indigo.... or about the love she and Jaxxon secretly had for one another. Could she really care for that fat old fanged bloodsucker.
No!
Jaxxon would get through this. he had to. and if it took raising an army.... he was going to bring back Muralie.... dead or alive.

Took a couple of photos of the gametable before a game the other night. this one is Jaxxon and Fin..... both represented by early 80's era grenadier figurines. Both of these figs have been in my collection since the holmes basic days.... it struck me as almost hilarious that the boys chose these old figurines from the scores of PCs in my figurine collection. and the way the two of them argued over a magical treasure last night.... you would think it a scene straight out of '81. HaHa! thanks!
I actually envisioned them as being like an unlaced pair of old combat boots.... at 71 years old, Muralie is still a teenager after all, and i wanted her to be a little fashion concious!
While my world is certainly medievally inspired.... it has plenty of anachronisms in it.....

I'm with Sligo on that one.... And if I might add- Welcome to the Trollbridge Fin. There are some very good people on here and the community, for the most part, is very supportive and helpful. Happy Gaming and good luck in the PbP in Cartomancer's Hunting Party game.
