Very sad to hear, although from recent photos of him I can't say that I'm too surprised. A great loss to the gaming community. My condolences to all of his family and friends.
R.I.P. Rick.

Took me be surprise, but as Mahrundl notes, not a surprise. The GoFundMe is still up, and Steve posted an announcement there: www.gofundme.com/f/help-gaming-legend-rick-loomisThe funds raised will help Rick's sisters deal with the bills, which sadly linger on.

His life made a big positive difference for many people. You can't be asked to do more than that. I'm sure we will hold hold him and his family in our thoughts.

So sad. I will be forever grateful for the wonderful games he published, for his continuing to support them and for him being an active member of our gaming community.Rest in peace Rick.

Ah, Frak. Words just don't.... they just don't.
Rick, you've left one hell of a legacy. Thank you. Without your efforts this community wouldn't exist and I wouldn't have had the welcome and support that got me through some rather dark times.
Wherever you are, May your dice always DARO and your table always have snacks.

Merdre! And I just read a post here that said that he was doing well with the therapy and hoped for remission.
At least they're assembling one hell of a weekly gaming group in the afterlife.

A sad day. I owe my continued insanity (and therefore my ability to deal with this version of the modern world) to Rick, Ken the TrollGod, T&T, and Flying Buffalo. The world just got colder. Love ya, Rick.

Words are always so hard for me in situations like this. Given our unavoidable mortality, I agree with the sentiment that "a man is not dead while his name is still spoken."
Let's all speak of him frequently.

PSA - I believe the gist of this sentiment originated with author Terry Pratchett. The use of the word "man" is done in the universal sense of all humanity and the reader should feel free to replace it with the gender wording of their choosing; no gender exclusion is intended nor should it be inferred.
