Hello Master Trolls, Is there an abbreviated spellbook reference to e.g. teach people the game with who don't yet own the rulebook? I'm specifically looking for even just 1st level or 1st- and 2nd- level standard spells. I've been hunting around the forums and DTRPG and other than the GM toolkit mentioned in ironfang 's compendium trollbridge.proboards.com/thread/1185/compendium , I haven't seen something that looks like it fits the bill. Thank you!

Not sure if this is the sort of thing you want, but some years ago, long before the rules were available as a PDF, I typed up the T&T spells for my players: With luck this link should go to a PDF of the spell book.Slightly abbreviated and in the most annoying typeface I could find, but there you are.

That's very handy. And yes, that's a rather irritating font. Then again, this is arcane knowledge - you wouldn't want it to be easy to read...

This is exactly what I was after (though maybe with a more readable font )! I tried out the 5e PDF but started making my own reference. If it's legit to share, I'd be happy to! Right now I have 1st through 5th level spells typeset in tables by level, including range, area of effect, level up effect, and notes about spell effects. I'm planning to make a quick reference for all the dT&T spells, and add some notes about spellcasting rules, WIZ recovery, and spell purchases (for those Wizards Guild approved adventurers) as well.

I tried out the 5e PDF but started making my own reference. If it's legit to share, I'd be happy to! Good morning, d4caltrops ! I'd be careful about what we upload to share here. The 5th ed. rule book is pretty compact with about half the book comprised of spells and using magic. My concern is that in your enthusiasm we could end up including too much and tripping over FBI's copyright. We have a good relationship with them at this point and I'd hate to see us inadvertently tarnish that friendship. I'm sure Steve and Rick's family could use all the revenue they can generate to take care of Rick's lingering medical bills. My unsolicited advice would be to focus on something more along the lines of what you would see on a GM screen. References, yes, but needing the rulebook to make full use of the material. To my knowledge, while there's a GM screen for dT&T I don't know of one for 5th ed. If there is, someone could set me straight and perhaps post a link? Please, let us know what questions you may have about uploading docs. Feel free to ping Mahrundl and I and we'll do our best to provide clear information and guidelines. We certainly don't want to stifle your enthusiasm and creativity!

I'm sure Steve and Rick's family could use all the revenue they can generate to take care of Rick's lingering medical bills. That's exactly what I was worried about. I don't want to cause anyone any trouble or do harm to the game or FBI. I noticed that the SRD was put on hold, which is part of why I didn't just upload what I had so far. I will keep it to myself for now then, or if it's decent enough, pursue official publishing avenues as a GM aide. I'm using Deluxe, and I love the spells and presentation of the spellbook... except that it's hard to reference during play! So I wanted a GM aide for myself. My unsolicited advice would be to focus on something more along the lines of what you would see on a GM screen. References, yes, but needing the rulebook to make full use of the material. That is what I was going for, but getting the information balance right is tricky. To my knowledge, while there's a GM screen for dT&T I don't know of one for 5th ed. If there is, someone could set me straight and perhaps post a link? Sounds like a project for a TrollsZine?? Please, let us know what questions you may have about uploading docs. Feel free to ping Mahrundl and I and we'll do our best to provide clear information and guidelines. We certainly don't want to stifle your enthusiasm and creativity! Thank you! I appreciate that very much. After I finish my reference, if you really don't mind, I might reach out to ask for your thoughts on whether this would be a useful resource to publish officially. Making the game easier to run will hopefully lead to more games!
