Tongue-in-cheek humor is baked right into the genetic code of T&T. I enjoy it, we're playing a game and having fun after all. I've been trying to think of humorous location names and thought I'd crowd-source it.
The idea is simple: a light-hearted or witty location name that wouldn't be completely out of place in a fantasy world. Puns along of the line of Piers Anthony's groaners or Spider Robinson's lively wordplay are included. As an example, from TOG's DL series, is Mt. Nevermind. The legend goes a bunch of gnomes were trying to give a cavalier a long name of the local mountain. Their name was a lot like the Welsh names you've seen for places and was basically a history of the place in the gnomish tongue. After listening for several long second the cavalier dismissed the gnomes with a rather (ahem) cavalier wave of his hand and said, "Never mind!" So impressed were the gnomes with how all the history of the mountain was reduced to so little, they themselves adapted "Never Mind" as the nickname of the place (like the Japanese affectionately call Mt. Fuji "Fuji-San"). Anyway, here is the first item for consideration ...

Great idea, @piper! I had some thoughts along these lines for locations when I was learning GIMP and some cartography skills. A few place names:
Trading posts: Koyn Spendid Ibag
Ports: Two cities separated by a narrow channel - Portman & Teau
Some classics: Dewdrop Inn & DragginDrop
How about Trope Tavern?
Rhyme & Punishment: The Bardic College of Bad Jokes
Ok, that's all I have for the moment. Be sure to tune back in, I love language and twisting meanings. Puns are the highest form of humor!
