Well, if they're the official Fifth Edition character sheets, since right is given to photocopy such things, as long as someone doesn't tout them as they're own work and as long as they aren't being distributed for profit, then it should be a-ok. It should fall under the terms of Fair Use.

Sorry, I don't see any right to photocopy or republish on my package of the official Tunnels and Trolls Character Record Sheets FBinc 1901 Copyright © 1980 Flying Buffalo Inc.

You're right.
Wow. That's a pretty stupid. I'll call it an oversight.
There's an official character sheet in the back of the solo Dark Temple. Surely they didn't expect you to rip it out or, in any case, be able to use it only once.
I suggest emailing Rick at Flying Buffalo for permission. I'm sure he'd be ok with it.

Given the date and that they were sold in packs. I'm guessing that photocopying was more expensive than buying the pack and they hoped to make a profit selling their resources.
First rule of copyright: Ask for permission you might be surprised.

I can see that as likely. Being only 35, I don't know how common photocopying was nor it's standard price before about...oh, 1987 or so when I started getting copies done of D&D and MERP character sheets. In that era, I think I recall paying about 5 cents a page or something like that...

I recall paying 20c (Australian) per page in my local library in the early 80s. Being exceedingly lacking in cash at the time, I hand-copied stuff rather than photocopying, most of the time.
So yes, photocopying could easily have been more expensive than buying the pack.

You needed a ladder to get to the scanning plate and a loan to pay for the copies.

In about 1980-81, in Anchorage, photocopies were typically $0.25 per copy single-sided-only.
The first few public copiers used thermal fax-paper... you couldn't get pencil to write on it!
Then cheap optical process photocopiers started showing up... mid 80s... and the price stayed the same... then dropped as they got cheaper down to $0.10 per side. Currently, $0.06 is pretty typical for copy-shops, and $0.10 for self-serve machines in other venues.

I have e-mailed Mr. Loomis concerning this matter, and as soon as I hear from him, either way, I will let you know afterwards.
Whatever he says, at least we'll know for sure. He was always very nice to me, when I'd write (snail mail) about which paragraph was the correct one in the solos. He, or Ken St. Andre would write me a kind letter and help with the correct info. There's an errata sheet on the Flying Buffalo site that has all the corrections there.
I promise you all that I will post as soon as I hear from Mr. Loomis about this.

Ever the gentleman, Rick Loomis granted permission to post the 5th edition character sheet for us all here. Thanks to all for the Exalts, they are appreciated! I think I have to make a separate post since it looks like I can only post one attachment at a time. This is the original sheet. Everyone use these in good health, now! Attachments:

Thank you Diamondfist! I printed 2 to a page, one-side only (for scratch paper jotting on the back) and inserted them into all my solos, rulebooks, and accessories. ;D /Clicks the Exalt link
