Folks, I'll be out of action for a few days, while someone I barely know cuts along dotted lines on and in my ankle*. So keep up this level of posting - I'll need something to read while I recuperate, after all - and try not to break all of the furniture while I'm gone... Mahrundl * To be fair, cutting into ankles is something that he is reportedly extremely good at, which is some sort of comfort, I suppose...

Take care Mahrundl don't let anything bad happen to our favorite moderator. And as someone who has gone in for a surgery or two make sure they know which ankle their supposed to be cutting on. We'll try and keep things lively for ya'.

I wish you the very best. Take good care of yourself and make them do the same. Here's to a speedy recovery! I'll keep the strippers and mass quantities of alcohol to a bearable minimum around here.

Hope your Surgeon is more qualified than that last bunch of drunken butchers I had-cries of "ummm" and "wow, I didn't know they could distend like that" and (my favorite!) "Hey, NO! That's the ARTERY!" are NOT what you want to hear during a 'routine medical proceedure'... And yes, I was awake. After talking to an Anasthesiologist who couldn't answer my question of WHAT KIND of General Anasthetic they routinely used(Sodium Amytol as I found out much later), I opted for the discomfort of an Epidural and the Squick Factor of watching the proceedings with the aid of a ceiling mirror! Not that it would have mattered if the knife slipped, but at least I could have screamed out a Dying Curse or grabbed one by the throat or something as I cooled... Funny, I became a Vegetarian after that...never put the two together at the time.Huh. But hey, i'm sure none of that will happen to you-you've probably got nothing to worry about. Have fun!

Thanks for the well-wishes, chaps! I'm alive, relatively pain-free most of the time, and the surgery appears to have gone OK.
Machfront, strippers and alcohol are fine, as long as you share!
Order99, I nearly ended up with a Spinal Block / Epidural, but they decided that a general anaesthetic would be suitable for me. I think that I'm rather happy about that...

That's great to hear, mahrundl! While you're recovering, just don't watch the film Misery.

That's great to hear, mahrundl! While you're recovering, just don't watch the film Misery. I just looked it up on IMDB. I'll pass, thanks...

Cheers, Skath! (By the way, your Odds & Ends page seems to be missing some text. Or is 'h' supposed to mean something that I'm too thick to work out? )

Oh, actually, it's far from complete yet. I'm slowly gathering my T&T stuff scattered about on two Macs and two PCs, prettying them up, and shoving them on the page.
Had no idea anyone saw the pages.

Mahrundl sees all, knows all... but doesn't tell all.
